Arsene Wenger has discussed the subject of Everton’s form so far this season and Arsenal’s failure to sign Romelu Lukaku.

The Gunners are preparing for a trip to Goodison Park, almost nine months after the 2-0 victory there in March which saw Alex Iwobi score his first Premier League goal.

Arsenal will be aiming to secure another three points which will pile the pressure on league leaders Chelsea as well as Everton manager Ronald Koeman who has seen his side struggle this season.

“Well, he [Koeman] has changed them. I think they had a strong start, Everton, and overall they are one of the dangerous teams where you look at the schedule and you need a strong performance to get the points. I believe he has started very well.” Wenger said on Monday

“They were very close many times and I think they’ve been in the top four, in the Champions League, once or twice since I’ve been here.”

The Arsenal manager also admitted that he is very familiar with the Toffees’ star striker Romelu Lukaku who was previously linked with a move to the Emirates stadium.

“I knew him when he played in Belgium. He came to Chelsea very early and, once a player is at a big London club, it’s difficult for us to get him.” he added
