As we head into 2017, I wanted to make a list of the top 10 games you should look out for in 2017 on PlayStation 4. Of course this list will come no where near all of the great games we will play, but these are the ones that I am looking forward to the most.

Gravity Rush 2: (PS4 exclusive) This is the upcoming sequel to Gravity Rush  was released on PlayStation Vita and then later  on remastered for the PS4 in early 2016. Gravity Rush is probably one of my favourite games that has come out in the past few years, fantastic art style and fun gameplay. I can’t wait for the sequel to be released on January 20th. (There’s a demo available right now on the PlayStation Store)

Yakuza 0: (PS4 exclusive) Yakuza 0 is the latest game in the long running Yakuza series (since the PS2 days) and a prequel to the series. It is a open world action- adventure game and honestly more people need to play the series, as just like Shenmue (another SEGA series, just like Yakuza) it is fantastic. Also due out in the summer of 2017 is Yakuza Kiwami a remake of the original PS2 game, exclusively on PS4.

Nioh: (PS4 exclusive) Nioh is pretty much a Samurai version of Dark Souls and Bloodborne, with it’s own differences of course. The game looks fantastic however and as a big fan of Samurais this is one I’m looking forward to on February 8th.

Horizon Zero Dawn: (PS4 exclusive) Horizon Zero Dawn is the first new IP by Guerrilla Games since the release of Killzone 1 in 2004, and it looks marvellous. It is an open world RPG in which you play as Aloy a hunter who has to survive in a world with robot dinosaurs. The game is also using Guerrilla Games Decimal Engine that they first used in Killzone Shadow Fall and later Until Dawn and will also power upcoming PlayStation exclusive Death Stranding by Hideo Kojima.  Horizon Zero Dawn is due for release on February 28th in North America and March 1st in the UK and Ireland as well as Europe.

Persona 5: (PS4 and PS3 exclusive) Persona 5 is the latest game Persona series by Atlas and has two of my all time favourite games, Persona 3 and 4 ( especially the remastered version of Persona 4 on the PSVita Persona 4 Golden), if you love JRPGs, then you need to try the series out. Due for release on April 4th.

Mass Effect Andromeda: (PS4,PC,XB1) Mass Effect Andromeda is the latest in the Mass Effect series, and also the start of a new story. set in the  Andromeda Galaxy, it starts at beginning of Mass Effect 2 but by the time the characters get to the  Andromeda galaxy it will have been hundreds of years since the ending of Mass Effect 3. Due in early 2017.

Yooka-Laylee: (PS4,PC,XB1) Yooka-Laylee is a upcoming platformer, similar to Banjo-Kazooie. It is also developed by old members of the team that mean Banjo-Kazooie at Rare, so I have  extremely high hopes for this game. Due for release on April 11th.

Gran Turismo Sport: (PS4 exclusive) Was originally due for release November of 2016, before it got pushed back to 2017, and while Sony hasn’t given a new release date yet, hopefully we won’t have to wait long for the sim racing game.

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard: (PS4, PC,XB1) after the disappointment of Resident Evil 6, Capcom seems to have learnt that Resident Evil is about horror. As such, they have changed the camera  from third person  to a first person. Similar to Outlast, and if the full game is anywhere near as good as the demos then this could be the return of Resident Evil as a serious horror series. Due for release on January 24th.

South Park The Fractured But Whole: (PS4,PC,XB1) is the sequel to South Park The Stick of Truth which was released in 2014 and honestly one of the best games of the PS3 era. The Fractured But Whole was originally due for release in December 2016, but Ubisoft decided to delay it to give it extra time, but hasn’t announced a solid release date yet.
