This fall, Recreational Sports (Rec Sports) will launch a new recreation management platform, Fusion by InnoSoft, to operate numerous business functions including online registration, membership and locker room management, and point-of-sale.
InnoSoft, founded in 2006, is a market leader in recreation management and software development with over 175 institutional clients across North America including the University of Florida, Notre Dame and UCLA.
Rec Sports leadership convened a multidisciplinary committee with representation from industry experts, senior campus leaders, and key partner and department stakeholders in order to conduct a thorough review of the existing software, identify current and future department needs, and assess the viability of the commercial products.
As part of a comprehensive request for proposal (RFP) process, Rec Sports consulted peer institutions and thought leaders in higher education including representatives from UCLA, University of Pennsylvania, MIT, Boston University, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine and UC San Diego. Vendors were evaluated on the key performance metrics including user experience, functionality, implementation, technical support and cost.
Earning high marks throughout the process, Fusion offers an enhanced and intuitive user experience, expanded administrative and data management capabilities, locker room and equipment management modules, as well as 24/7 technical support.
Additionally, with a lower annual price point Rec Sports will experience considerable annual cost savings which will go to support other student programs, new services and facilities improvements.
The new software is expected to be in place by the end of the calendar year.
