Election Day 2014 has arrived. It could turn out to be a day of reckoning for several incumbent Democrats in close races.
Election analysts are predicting the Republicans will take over the Senate. The Washington Post election model says there is a 96 percent probability Republicans will take over control of the Senate. Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight says Republicans have a 74 percent chance of winning the majority. The New York Times election model gives Republicans a 70 percent chance of taking the majority.
Incumbent Democratic senators are in tight races across the country, including Kay Hagan of North Carolina, Mark Udall of Colorado, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Jeanne Shaheen in New Hampshire, Mark Warner in Virginia, and Mark Begich in Alaska.
The past few months have been a struggle for these senators as they’ve tried to distance themselves from President Barack Obama despite their voting records.
The election could have additional consequences. The Washington Free Beacon’s own election model KATE believes there is a 51.7 percent chance that President Obama will resign after the midterm elections.

Chuck Todd: Obama ‘A Man on the Island’

Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd said if Republicans take the senate in the 2014 midterm elections, President Obama stands to be “a man on the island,” alienated by both Republicans and Democrats in congress.
“Republicans have made this entire campaign, particularly this last month and a half, about President Obama,” Todd said. “If they win the Senate it means they successfully made it a referendum. I think he becomes a man on the island.”
Todd said Democrats are going to run away from Obama “even faster” if they lose the Senate on Tuesday and start to focus on the 2016 elections.
Democrats and Republicans, Todd said, essentially had the same message in 2014.
“The Republican message is President Obama is the problem. The Democratic message is, ‘you know, you’re right. President Obama is a problem.’ What do the voters in the middle hear? President Obama is a problem,” Todd said. “Democrats didn’t really have a counter-offensive message, I think. I think they’re going backseat drive themselves on this going forward.”

NBC’s Chuck Todd said that the Democratic Party is “no longer the party of Obama” due to his distinct lack of campaign activity in key Senate races during the 2014 election cycle.
“The Democratic Party is no longer the party of Obama,” Todd said on Election day. “One thing we do know after tonight–the Democratic Party is the party of Clintons again.”
Todd pointed out that Obama campaigned in virtually none of the competitive states while at-risk Democratic candidates were “begging” Bill Clinton to campaign in their states.
“Democrats all over the country were begging for Bill Clinton to campaign for them,” Todd said. “And they were doing the Heisman to Mr. Obama.”

CNN Calls out Davis, Grimes for Most Shocking and Dishonest Ads of 2014

Alison Lundergan Grimes (D., Ky.) and Wendy Davis (D., Texas) received top, or maybe it was low, honors from CNN’s The Lead Monday in a discussion of the most dishonest and shocking political ads of the 2014 cycle.
Host Jake Tapper called Grimes’ commercial “the ultimate Four-Pinnochio ad,” referring to the rating system of Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler. Grimes stood in front of the Big Sandy power plant and said Sen Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) and his wife Elaine Chao had accepted $600,000 from “enemies of coal” while not doing enough to secure scrubbers to reduce coal emissions and save the plant.
Tapper called it “crazy talk” and Kessler called it “completely false on every level” Monday, previously writing McConnell had nothing to do with the plant’s closing and the ties Grimes tried to make to his wife were “misleading and flimsy.”
Meanwhile, Davis, the Democratic Texas gubernatorial candidate, was given the dubious distinction of “most shocking” ad for her infamous attack on Republican Greg Abbott as a hypocrite for not helping other disabled victims. The ad was universally panned as being desperate and in bad taste since it discussed Abbott’s tragic accident that put him in a wheelchair.
Tapper joked after the segment, which included criticism of Republicans as well, that he needed to take a shower.

5 Reminders for the Republican Party on Election Day

With Republicans expected by virtually every prognosticator to take back the Senate in today’s midterm election, the GOP has reached a turning point. Win or lose, the Republican Party will have to do some serious thinking about next steps.
Should the GOP fail to turn the Senate red, the party leadership will be seen by the conservative base as an utter failure – to somehow blow an electoral opportunity with a highly-unpopular second term Democratic president, multiple mishandled crises by a Democratic Senate, and a marked lack of enthusiasm from the Democratic base could lead to the party’s internal collapse.
On the other hand, should Republicans fulfill expectations and win back the Senate, the task before them becomes similarly difficult: promote an agenda that excites the base, hold President Obama’s feet to the fire, and somehow unite the disparate factions of the conservative movement in time for Hillary Clinton’s inevitable 2016 presidential run.
Nonetheless, the Republicans do have their first opportunity since 2010 to move forward. Here’s what they must do to do so.
Stop Alienating The Base. Party insiders told me weeks ago that immigration reform is first on the agenda for Republican leaders should the GOP take back the Senate. Their reports were supported by Mitt Romney, who said, “You are going to see a bill actually reach the desk of the president if we finally have someone besides Harry Reid sitting in the Senate….I think the Republicans in the House were looking at what was coming up from the Senate and saying, ‘You know we can do better if we pick up some more seats in the Senate.’”
This isn’t necessarily the end of the world – if Republicans pass a good, solid immigration bill that closes the border and regulates deportations. There is no need for a comprehensive bill. And Republicans would certainly be foolish enough to pass a comprehensive piece of legislation in the hopes of making President Obama look bad for not signing it — only to allow him to manipulate the narrative into Republicans being intransigent when he vetoes.
Exploit Fissures In The Democratic Base. President Obama’s 2012 electoral coalition rested on heavy minority and youth turnout. That is not a coalition that Hillary Clinton can replicate in 2016. She does not have the minority support that President Obama has – if she did, she would have been nominated in 2008 – and her appeal to the young is extremely limited, given that she was young when Richard Nixon was still in office. Polls show that Republicans have picked up significant ground with Hispanics in this election cycle as well.
The way to exploit fissures in the Democratic base is to pick on single issues and bash them home. Instead of worrying about comprehensive bills, Republicans should find wildly unpopular programs, cut them, and then force President Obama to veto those cuts. Aim small, miss small. And discrete targets make for easier aim.
Don’t Ignore The Narrative. Midterm elections rarely revolve around a single big narrative (2010’s central focus on Obamacare was an aberration). Instead, they revolve around a generalized perception of anger at the incumbent party. Presidential elections – particularly presidential elections without an incumbent president — do not work the same way. Presidential election narratives are crafted years in advance by a leftist-compliant media – and Republicans would be wise to spot the narrative and learn how to fight it. For 2008, the narrative was that America had been badly divided, and that in the person of Barack Obama, the nation’s greatest historic conflict – over race – could be healed. For 2016, the narrative already being crafted is that America requires a woman to end a supposed war on women. Republicans would be unwise to neglect that narrative in order to talk about the economy. They made that mistake in 2012, and they lost to the left’s preferred narrative on race.
Don’t Let Cash Substitute For Passion. If Republicans win big in 2014, it will be thanks to an activated conservative base eager to knock on doors and work the phones. It will not be thanks to a few coastal donors. In 2016, precisely the reverse is likely to occur. Whereas Democratic donors are largely in tune with the Democratic base, Republican donors scorn the base as backward. That tension led to the base’s disenchantment with the establishment-loved John McCain and Mitt Romney in the last two presidential elections.
Don’t Let Passion Substitute For Brains. There will be a substantial push by members of the base to punish President Obama. That push may lead to tactics that are likely to fail dramatically, ignoring the presence of an adversarial media looking for opportunities to boost both Obama and Hillary. Every legislative target must be carefully chosen and considered; establishment types must not hope for media support, and conservative hard core base types must not pretend that media spin doesn’t matter.
Republicans have a rare opportunity today. If that opportunity continues into tomorrow, Republicans must be prepared to seize it.

Mainstream Media Dismiss Midterm Election as Democrats Stumble

Votes haven’t even begun to be counted yet and already the media is denouncing this election as meaningless.
“Where’s the beef in this year’s election?” asks one columnist, lamenting the success of Iowa Republican Joni Ernst’s hilarious campaign ad in which she boasts of her expertise in castrating hogs.
“I’ll know how to cut pork,” Mrs. Ernst vows if sent to Washington. “Let’s make ‘em squeal!”
Mrs. Ernst’s message is, apparently, plenty clear to all the stupid voters out there. But it has the smart set in the media in full pearl-clutching gasps.
“If Iowa voters, among the country’s best informed, are falling for gimmicks, there’s no hope for the rest of us,” Bloomberg columnist Margaret Carlson grieves.
Oh, dear! If only Mrs. Ernst ran on specifics! Like promising us “hope!” Or, maybe “change!”
Two months ago, as the election’s gathering storm began to take shape, The Washington Post reported that unlike previous elections there is no dominant theme here. As evidence, the paper interviewed one voter concerned about drones and another concerned about America’s irreversible decline.
Where, oh, where were all these deeply discerning reporters back in 2008?
Perhaps one big reason the press is so eager to denounce the outcome of the election is that the press — by which I mean liberal Democrats and their slavish scribes in the press — have desperately tried to make this election about all sorts of fake “issues” that have completely failed to gain any traction with actual voters.
Washington Times reporter Valerie Richardson reports this week that hedge fund billionaire Tom Steyer has spent some $76 million to make “global warming” the “issue” of this election. Failed.
Former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords has spent millions traveling the country struggling to deliver a 64-word speech in hopes of making gun control the “issue” of this election. Again, failure.
And, of course, there has been the universal effort to make this whole midterm election about some “war on women.” That effort has failed so miserably that even Democratic politicians are now telling one another to shut up about it.
Having failed to manufacture any sort of winning “issue” that might give Democrats some hope in this election, the media has grabbed up all their marbles and run home crying.
Media Research Center last week reported that the three major networks ran just 25 stories about the election from September to mid-October. ABC News, astoundingly, had not run a single story on the election. Not even a mention, according to the MRC analysis.
By comparison, when former President George W. Bush faced a similar wire brush-beating in his second midterms, the three networks giddily ran some 159 stories during the same time period — a stunning 6 times as many stories as this year.
The truth is, this year’s election is about a host of crucially important issues.
Winning candidates are talking about staggering debt that this Democratic regime has heaped upon America’s children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. They talk about the out-of-control illegal immigration straining schools, hospitals and social services. They talk about the epidemic of child slavery sparked by this president’s borderless policies.
Winning candidates are talking about the reckless ineptitude of the CDC and the rest of the administration in its handling of the Ebola virus, which never should have reached our shores in the first place. They are talking about the steep costs and cruel failures of Obamacare.
Winning candidates are talking about the towering arrogance of fickle politicians and blithe disregard for the sacrifices of our soldiers fighting terrorism around the world. They are talking about how this president and Democrats in Congress decided to retreat from so much hard-won territory and now a new, even more evil breed of inhuman Islamofacists are on the march.
Of course, the real reason Democrats and the media have already begun spinning how meaningless this election will be is because deep down they know the real issues that are driving people to the polls. And they are terrified. So, instead of facing those issues and attempting to address them like responsible adults, they would much prefer to simply say, “where is the beef?”

Virginia Voting Machine Turns Republican Vote into Democrat Vote

Electronic voting machines in Virginia are preventing voters from selecting a Republican candidate in the state’s second congressional district, a video posted to YouTube on Tuesday shows.
The video, posted by an anonymous user, shows a voter attempting to vote for Rep. Scott Rigell (R., Va.).
The electronic voting machine automatically switches the voter’s selection to Democratic challenger Suzanne Patrick. The problem is widespread in the district, Rigell told a local news station.
“We have received numerous, credible reports of poll machine irregularity at voting precincts in Virginia’s Second Congressional District,” Rigell said. “This is very troubling. It is critical that every voter verifies the final summary page before pushing the ‘cast ballot’ option.”

Look at the previous posts below to see this is NOT a new story. A whistle blower testified in 2012 that the voting machines can easily be rigged. We should get rid of the voting machine that do not have paper ballots to check the vote.

BUSTED: Biden Says Greg Orman ‘Will Be With Us’

Vice President Joe Biden said that ‘independent’ candidate Greg Orman “will be with us” if he wins in the Kansas Senate race against incumbent Pat Roberts (R., Kan.).
“We have a chance of picking up an independent who will be with us in the state of Kansas,” Biden said during an interview with WPLR FM on Tuesday.
Orman has repeatedly stated that, if elected, he would caucus with the majority party in the Senate but has denied being affiliated with the Democratic party, despite the fact that his campaign is stacked with Democratic operatives.
After Biden’s statement, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said he was not aware that anybody from the White House, including Biden, had endorsed Orman for Senate:

Project Veritas founder compares showing ID to poll workers to showing “garlic to a vampire”

Investigative journalist and founder of the watchdog group Project Veritas, James O’Keefe, joined Infowars Nightly News to break down his latest report covering how he was able to secure multiple voter ballots under strangers’ names, making a clear case for the necessity of voter I.D. laws.
“We were in the area surrounding Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina and we walked into the poll precinct locations and simply said the names of inactive voters and they offered us ballots,” O’Keefe succinctly explained his ploy, adding that he visited about 20 different polling locations and was able to recreate the same result.
Out of all the polls visited, O’Keefe said, only one actually asked for his I.D., preventing him from using someone else’s name to acquire a ballot.
When poll workers were offered a chance to see his I.D., O’Keefe said, they treated it like “garlic to a vampire.”
“In NC in 2014 you do not need to show a driver’s license and in some of the cases where we would say, ‘Oh, do you need to see my driver’s license?’ They would, almost like when you show garlic to a vampire,” O’Keefe described. “They would jump back and say, ‘No! No! No! No! No! No! No! I can’t see your ID! I can’t see your ID!’ So the notion that someone actually asked for ID is wrong. In the state of North Carolina, you’re not allowed to do that.”
Project Veritas, which took off in 2009 after the group shed light on community organizer ACORN’s nefarious activities, has put the 2014 midterm elections at the forefront with their latest series exploring voter fraud.
“This comes on the heels of a report we did last week where a campaign worker was fired for telling us to vote for non-citizens,” O’Keefe said. Another poll worker advised him to dig through the garbage for mail-in ballots.
“You know in Colorado, in the mail-in ballots, almost half or one-third of those ballots are thrown away or discarded, and one of the officials in the video says, ‘Yeah you should go fill those ballots out. Fill in those mail in ballots.’ All you gotta do is checkmark someone’s name and forge their signature and you congratulations you’re voting in somebody else’s name.”
O’Keefe also claimed the names of dead people could also be used. “Anyone whose names are on the rolls, you can walk right up to the poll location, state their name, state their address, and you could get offered their ballot, you just need to sign the form,” he said, adding that he didn’t actually fill out any forms because that would have been illegal.
Someone could also use another inactive voter’s info simply by arriving early, O’Keefe confirmed.
In 2012, Veritas embarrassed the establishment when they were able to get a ballot under then-Attorney General Eric Holder’s name.
“We got offered Eric Holder’s ballot two years ago. We went into Eric Holder’s precinct and walked right up to the Attorney General, where he votes, and the poll worker said, here you go Mr. Holder. And of course we weren’t Eric Holder, but they assumed we were because there’s no photo ID. Then after we did this, they actually had a picture of Eric Holder put at his poll location. So they verified identity for Eric Holder, but nobody else.”
The Veritas founder says thanks to their work exposing corruption, the State Board of Elections is now investigating their allegations.
