Gohmert: MB Obama’s Praise for Radical Muslim Cleric is ‘Truly Unsettling’
‘This, by no means, sounds like a moderate Muslim leader’

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R., Texas) said that it is “truly unsettling” and “utterly appalling” that President Obama went before the United Nations on Wednesday and praised a controversial Muslim cleric who endorsed a fatwa encouraging the murder of U.S. troops in Iraq.
Obama came under scrutiny yesterday after the Washington Free Beacon reported on his commendation of controversial cleric Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah, who the president referred to as a moderate Muslim capable of helping to combat the Islamic State (ISIS) extremist ideology.
Critics noted that the cleric endorsed a 2004 fatwa advocating for the killing of U.S. soldiers in Iraq and has called “for the death of Jews,” according to terrorism analyst Patrick Poole.
Additionally, Bin Bayyah has served as the vice president of a Muslim scholars group that has reportedly endorsed Hamas and that was founded by a radical Muslim Brotherhood leader who has called “for the death of Jews and Americans,” according to multiple reports.
Gohmert, a vocal critic of radical Islam, told the Free Beacon that Obama’s efforts to boost Bin Bayyah and sell him to the world as a moderate cleric are “truly unsettling” and “utterly appalling.”
“It is truly unsettling that our Commander-in-Chief can praise someone with such a radical ideology in the midst of conducting airstrikes against those that hold the same beliefs, then finish his speech at the U.N. with his best impersonation of a determined George W. Bush,” Gohmert told the Free Beacon in a statement.
“Perhaps it is the people he has advising him, but he still has extraordinary difficulty in discerning our friends from our enemies. Case in point, he continues outreach to Iran while their centrifuges continue to spin future death for the U.S. and Israel,” said Gohmert, who serves as vice chair on the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security.
Gohmert is particularly miffed that Obama gave a nod to Bin Bayyah from the global stage at the U.N. with the world watching.
“The ideology of ISIS or al Qaeda or Boko Haram will wilt and die if it is consistently exposed, confronted, and refuted in the light of day,” Obama said in his remarks.
“Look at the new Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies—Sheikh bin Bayyah described its purpose: ‘We must declare war on war, so the outcome will be peace upon peace,’” Obama said, quoting the controversial cleric.
“It is utterly appalling that the President of the United States would go before the United Nations and praise a radical Muslim cleric,” he said. “President Obama honored Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah by reading a quote from him on the world stage and grouping this cleric with those who are ‘Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies.’”
Given Bin Bayyah’s controversial views and past statement, “this, by no means, sounds like a moderate Muslim leader,” Gohmert said.
When asked to explain Obama’s remarks on Wednesday, a White House official said that the president’s comments speak for themselves and declined to add anything further.
The Obama administration has come under fire multiple times in the past for promoting Bin Bayyah.
He was included in a 2013 meeting at the White House with Obama’s national security team. The State Department’s Counterterrorism Bureau (CT) then promoted Bin Bayyah earlier this year on Twitter. The department later deleted the pro-Bin Bayyah tweet and apologized multiple times for promoting the controversial cleric.

The Muslim Brotherhood’s Strategic Plan For America – Court Document

The following is the official document from a 1991 meeting which outlines the Muslim Brotherhood’s strategic goals for North America. The document was entered as evidence in the 2008 Holyland Terror Funding Trial. Federal investigators found the document in the home of Ismael Elbarasse, a founder of the Dar Al-Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, Virginia, during a 2004 search. Elbarasse was a member of the Palestine Committee, which the Muslim Brotherhood had created to support Hamas in the United States.

In Semitic languages many words are created by inserting different vowels between the three root consonants, e.g. “iSLaM” and “SaLaM” are two derivations from SLM. Does that mean they are related in meaning also?
In Romanic and Germanic languages it is not so much by vowel changes, but by adding prefix or suffix to the root word [i.e. before or after the root]. For example “love” can be seen as a ‘root word’, which then can be the base for several adjectives, like “loving” and “loveless”, both of which come from the same root “love” but clearly they mean basically the opposite. “Typical” and “atypical” also come from the same root “type” but mean again the very opposite. Now, English is not the standard to which one has to measure Arabic, but this example has the purpose to make clearer the below article to those who do not speak Arabic. I hope it is helpful.

Muslim propagandists are nowadays making extraordinary efforts to change the image of Islam by reintroducing it to the Western society as a religion that calls for peace and rejects violence. One of the new theories that they are trying to sell is that the name of their religion Islam implies the meaning of ‘Peace’, which in Arabic is Salam. The grounds for their theory is that both words are derived from the same root in the Arabic language!
While it may be possible to deceive those who do not speak Arabic or those who do not know much about Islam, propaganda like this does not fool someone who knows the Arabic language and the teaching of Islam, a religion that was established by violence and still believes in violence as a principal and as a way of life. The relationships between Muslims themselves and between them and all other nations have always been based on terror and still is. Islam and Salam are two incongruous words that share no common ground either in name or in substance.
In order to find the meaning of a certain word in the Arabic dictionary, it is essential to search for the three letter infinitive verb which is called the root. Many words can be derived from the same root, but they don’t necessarily have to have any similarity in their meaning. The word Islam, which means ‘submission’, is derived from the infinitive Salama. So is the word Salam which means ‘peace’ and so is the verb Salima which means ‘to be saved or to escape from danger’. One of the derivations of the infinitive Salama means ‘the stinging of a snake’ or ‘The tanning of the leather’. Hence, if the word Islam has something to do with the word Salam i.e. ‘Peace’, does that also mean that it must be related to the ‘stinging of the snake’ or ‘tanning the leather’?
Muhammad used to send letters to the kings and leaders of the surrounding countries and tribes, inviting them to surrender to his authority and to believe in him as the messenger of Allah. He always ended his letters with the following two words: “Aslim, Taslam!”. Although these two words are derived from the same infinitive Salama which is the root of Salam, i.e. ‘Peace’, neither one of them implies the meaning of ‘peace’. The sentence means ‘surrender and you will be safe’, or in other words, ‘surrender or face death’. So where is the meaning of ‘Peace’ in such a religion that threatens to kill other people if they don’t submit to it?
On the other hand, the Qur’an and other Islamic books like Al-Hadith and Al-Sira, i.e. the life of Muhammad, are full of evidence which proves that had it not been for violence, Islam wouldn’t have existed or wouldn’t have survived until today. A good example to mention would be The Wars Of Al-Riddah, i.e. ‘the wars against the apostates’, that began immediately after the death of Muhammad. Feeling relieved by the disappearance of the strong fearful leader Muhammad, the tribes which have been forced to embrace Islam, revolted and began, one after another, to renegade and to refuse paying the taxes imposed on them by the Prophet’s government. In response to the revolution, the first Caliph, Abu-Bakr, ordered his army to fight the apostates. It took him almost two years of fighting to force the tribes back into the fold of Islam. These wars were not ordered only by the first Caliph, but they were also instructed by Allah and his messenger Muhammad. The Qur’an states clearly that those who go back from Islam are to be punished by death: “But if they turn renegades seize them and slay them wherever ye find them and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks. Al-Nisaa 4:89.” Muhammad also said, as narrated by Al-Bukhari, “If somebody – a Muslim – discards his religion, kill him.”
The Qur’an not only ordered the killing of those who embraced Islam and afterwards decided to renegade, but also commanded the followers to fight all nations until they either believe in it, pay the Jizya or face death:
“Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the last day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and his apostle nor acknowledge the religion of truth of the people of the Book (the Jews and the Christians) until they pay the Jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued. Surat At-Tauba 9:29″
And in the same Sura, verse 5, the Qur’an also states: “Fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem …” Now doesn’t the image of Islam as a religion of peace sound, after all, a little bit hard to believe? …

Islam is NOT just another religion
We see no use in pretending that Islam is just another religion – which always seems to be the assumption of those preferring not to look too closely.
In fact, Islam is dreadfully unique – and it should be OK to say so.
What other religion’s most devoted members videotape themselves cutting people’s throats while screaming praises to their god?
What other faith has tens of thousands of terrorists across the globe united by an explicit commitment to advance the cause of their religion by pursuing horrific mass murder and mutilation?
What other religion has clerics lauded as ‘moderates’, ‘bridge-builders’, and advocates of ‘peace and tolerance’ who, at best cannot even bring themselves to condemn suicide bombers or denounce Islamist terror organizations, or at worst actually support terrorism, wife-beating, female genital mutilation and justify the killing of apostates and homosexuals?
What other religion kills innocent people over cartoons and teddy bears, burns poets and intellectuals alive and murders humanitarian workers of other faiths who are merely trying to help them?
What other religion actually celebrated the 9/11 attacks, described the carnage as “one of the miracles of the Quran” and proclaimed it to be “God’s work against oppressors”?
What other religion childishly brags about its growth while at the same time openly denies other religions equal opportunity to evangelize – and even endorses killing those who leave?
What other religion has prominent PR organizations and charities so closely tied to terrorism – organizations like CAIR, which whine about dress codes and rubber ducks in the West while ignoring the Jihad genocide of thousands in Darfur?
What other religion has verses in its holy book that remind men of their divine permission to beat their wives and rape their slaves?
The list could go on (and does – each day on TheReligionof-Peace.com). Islam so routinely produces horrible atrocities in the name of Allah that no one is all that surprised when…

How shocking any of this would be if it didn’t involve the Islamic religion. As it is, much of it barely registers in the media. The very fact that the bar of expectation is set so low for “the Religion of Peace” underscores just how different it really is.
No other religion has to attach “phobia” on the end of its name in order to bully others into silence – lest they be accused of harboring irrational fear for suggesting that Islam is different. Yet, all other religions combined do not account for even a fraction of terrorism in the name of their god that Islam produces each day. No religion is so demanding of respect while doing so little to earn it.
In fact, Islam is more than a religion. It is a rigid political and cultural system with a mandate to conquer and govern the lives of others via necessary force “until religion is only for Allah.” Violence is sanctioned by the Quran, a book which not once tells Muslims to love those outside the faith.
Thus, the enemy of this orthodoxy is not just intellectual dissent and free speech, but human freedom. The divine charter of Islam is to impose itself and thus prevent the individual from discovering a different meaning for their own lives.
Islam breeds arrogance and self-absorption, which accounts for the collective petulance and perpetual grievance characterizing Muslim populations in general – along with the astonishing unwillingness to extend equal moral consideration to those outside the religion.
This disregard for others is rooted in the supremacist ideology of the Quran and Islamic law, which unashamedly draws the sharpest distinction between those within the group of believers and those without – towards whom arbitrary denigration is cast and hatred, harsh treatment and eternal punishment is prescribed.
As a consequence, not a day goes by without someone, somewhere in the world being horribly murdered by devout Muslims in the name of this religion – over ten thousand persons each year. More innocent lives were snuffed out in just two hours by devout Muslims on 9/11 than by the Ku Klux Klan in its entire 145-year history (source).
Where Islam dominates, there is systematic discrimination and oppression of those of other faiths. Where Muslims are a minority, there is peevish self-interest, disloyalty and eventual rebellion and terror when demands for special privilege and entitlements are not met – all part of the eternal jihad to bring about the rule of Islam as Muhammad instructed.
It isn’t the victims who need lessons in tolerance and understanding – it is the Islamic world.
Can one name a single country in the West in which the significant influx of Muslims has not been accompanied by severe social strain? Can one name any country affected in the same way by Hindu immigration?
Those willing to open their minds will find that, regardless of the excuse-du-jour, the remarkably wide-spread level of narcissism, repression and violence is deeply ingrained in the teachings, double standards and early history of the Islamic religion. While there is not a single verse in the Quran that commands love for those outside Islam, there are nearly 500 that either promote violence or allude to Allah’s hatred for unbelievers – in a book that is largely about how to think of and deal harshly with those outside the “true” faith.
Why rely on rosy platitudes and carefully-edited fragments of Quran verses from apologists when Islam speaks so well for itself? Beyond the whitewashing are obvious reasons why so many devotees do horrible things in the name of Allah, while most of the rest never seem to get terribly upset by it – busy as they are throwing tantrums and demanding for themselves what they explicitly deny others.
How much favor are we really doing Muslims by not challenging them to the sort of self-critique necessary for moral progress? How much favor are we doing ourselves by desperately trying to accommodate that which has no intention of accommodating us, or by continuing to sacrifice blood and budgets for those who hate us in return? Is it really in our best interests to assist the expansion within our own borders of a religion that is consistently incapable of building countries in which even Muslims themselves want to live?
Tolerance is a good thing, but not when we allow it to be used cynically against us by those who have no use for it once they obtain power. We need to back away from the altar of political correctness and throw out our preconceptions. We need to embrace critical thinking.
The truth is that Islam is not a religion of peace and it is not like other religion. Sometimes the truth isn’t comfortable. Sometimes the truth offends. But it is far better that we offend others than lose our own freedom.

Radical UK Cleric Held In Terror Raid

Anjem Choudary, a radical British Muslim cleric who justified the killing of James Foley, was among the nine men arrested in an anti-terror raid in London on Thursday, BBC reported:
Anjem Choudary is a deeply controversial Islamic figure, a man who many Muslims despise because they believe he causes enormous damage to their position in British society.
Alongside another now-banned cleric, he once spearheaded al-Muhajiroun, a group that argued that the West is fighting a war against Muslims and Islam.
When the government banned the group, some of its former members founded new organisations, including Islam4UK and Muslims Against Crusades–which were also later banned.
Choudary sparred with Fox News host Sean Hannity on August 27, saying, “Sharia is coming to a place near you.”
