Firm favourites of mine so far include the Earl Grey Tea, All Butter Shortbread and the Strawberry Jam. I am surprised how much I'm in love with the toffee waffles too, which are heavenly sweet and somehow increasingly moreish.
The tea is of such fantastic quality and laced with a subtle natural bergamot flavour characteristic of Earl Grey. The London Tea Company have blended this from two bright black teas from Ceylon and the Nilgiris in South India to create one of the nation's favourite teas.
The strawberry jam has a lovely back story too, which is from West Country founded Thursday Cottage. Now in Essex, they still keep the same jam making methods in their award winning products. The shortbread, hailing from Devon based Teoni's, are made from premium British butter to a melt-in-the-mouth traditional recipe. British jam, fruit cakes and a beautifully made tea blend, the beginnings of a very British afternoon tea, if you ask me.
