SQL Server 2000 Download Format Retirement
Now that the March 2016 publication is completed, we have discontinued SQL Server 2000 as a download option for the ACES databases on enhancedstandard.com. The VCdb, PCdb, Qdb and PAdb will still be supported in Access 2007, ASCII, SQL Server 2008 and MYSQL formats. For our support philosophy moving forward, we will mirror support windows outlined in the Microsoft product support lifecycle. The support lifecycle for SQL server is ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle?C2=1044 )
This month’s publication, April 2016 is the first publication where the SQL Server 2000 format is no longer being published

With the implementation of ID Retention and the VCdb Change Log we are reducing when ID’s change and are better able to track the data and ID changes happening in the VCdb with each month’s publication. With these two enhancements now in place we have the ability to provide a more comprehensive and complete view of the VCdb updates.
Providing this information monthly has led to the approval of the following VCdb Data Notification Policy at the 2015 Fall Leadership Days conference in Austin, Texas.

Updated versions of the Vehicle Configuration Database (VCdb), the Product Classification database (PCdb), the Product Attribute database (PAdb), and the Qualifier database (Qdb) are available to subscribers from the web interface at www.enhancedstandard.com. A valid User Name and Password, as well as a current ACES subscription are required to download the VCDB and QDB files and to petition for changes. A valid PAdb subscription is required to download the PAdb and petition for changes. If you get the message “This User is Inactive”, please make use of the Contact Us link.
The PCdb is available for download at www.enhancedstandard.com without a subscription. You can log in as a Guest to access the PCdb if you do not have log in credentials.

There are 1307 new CodeMaster records available in PCdb for April 2016
Several improvements were implemented in PCdb this month
Two Subcategory changes were performed to align parts properly. “Paint Spray Gun” related parts were aligned to “Spray Gun” to allow for more universal cataloging. Air Suspension part names were aligned to provide better phrasing of the part that closer resembles other suspension part names. Terminologies were also aligned for formatting consistency; Parts containing “Decklid” were updated to “Deck Lid”.
This formatting consistency effort will continue next month with the alignment of all variations of “Shut-Off” and “Armrest”. All remaining “Lamp” terminologies will also be updated in May to “Light” to reduce complications of maintaining both “Lamp” and “Light”.
We are currently processing several large submissions for paint and body related items, smaller hardware type items, powersports related items, and additional positions for suspension components. Parts from these submissions will continue to be added to PCdb as research and validation is completed. Please review the change notifications sheet for specific details on the changes that are happening in coming releases.
The PartsSupersession table’s functionality and content are under review for improvement with ACES 4.0 and should only be used as a reference at this time. Please refer to the link below for details regarding the temporary use of the table.
