SQL Server 2000 Download Format Retirement
Now that the March 2016 publication is completed, we have discontinued SQL Server 2000 as a download option for the ACES databases on enhancedstandard.com. The VCdb, PCdb, Qdb and PAdb will still be supported in Access 2007, ASCII, SQL Server 2008 R2 and MYSQL formats. For our support philosophy moving forward, we will mirror support windows outlined in the Microsoft product support life cycle. Last month’s publication, April 2016 was the first publication where the SQL Server 2000 format is no longer being published

This version is the more up to date offering from Microsoft.It is not backwards compatible with the base SQL 2008 version offered
It is also the only version utilized in the ACES standards since its original publication back in 2012
VCdb Data Notification Policy
With the implementation of ID Retention and the VCdb Change Log we are reducing when ID’s change and are better able to track the data and ID changes happening in the VCdb with each month’s publication. With these two enhancements now in place we have the ability to provide a more comprehensive and complete view of the VCdb updates.
Providing this information monthly has led to the approval of the following VCdb Data Notification Policy at the 2015 Fall Leadership Days conference in Austin, Texas.

Updated versions of the Vehicle Configuration Database (VCdb), the Product Classification database(PCdb), the Product Attribute database (PAdb), and the Qualifier database (Qdb)are available to subscribers from the web interface at www.enhancedstandard.com . A valid User Name and Password, as well as a current ACES subscription are required to download the VCDB and QDB files and to petition for changes. A valid PAdb subscription is required to download the PAdb and petition for changes. If you get the message “This User is Inactive”, please make use of the Contact Us link.
The PCdb is available for download at www.enhancedstandard.com without a subscription. You can log in as a Guest to access the PCdb if you do not have log in credentials.

With the additions this month, we have published 429 of the 1344 total projected vehicles for the 2017 model year. 67 of these are published to Stage 4
This month, 130 new MY2017 Light Duty vehicles were added in various publication stages

PCdb Special Announcements:
The PartsSupersession has received a minor data update. Five Part Terminologies have been restored to PCdb in response to community feedback. These parts have been removed from the PartsSupersession table. A full review of the PartsSupersession table data will be conducted during June. The results of this review will be listed to the PCdb Workspace on Communifire for additional community feedback before additional updates will be published to the PartsSupersession table.
Effective with the July 29, 2016 release of PCdb:
The three current Transmission Categories (IDs 20,21 and 28) are being consolidated into a single Category named “Transmission”.The current Category ID 20 will be used for this consolidation. All Part Terminologies using the abbreviations “Auto” and “Trans” will also be updated to use“Automatic” and “Transmission” respectively. Please review the special Change Notifications Sheet for these changes to Transmission related Part Terminologies for additional detail. Additional PartTerminology consolidations will be conducted as needed in future releases of PCdb.
