Who doesn’t like to save money and feel like they have found a really good deal?  Well, no one that I know of.

With more and more online coupon sites and money saving sites popping up all over the Internet, there’s really no excuse not to “stash a little cash” these days.  Especially on the items that you buy on a regular basis.

When it comes to saving money online these days, there are:

cashback sites

coupon code and promo code sites

free shipping sites

coupon and loyalty card sites

discount travel and dining sites

financial advice sites.

There would be no way to cover all of them today; however, a description with an example will be covered for each one of the six above-mentioned sites. Sometimes it’s easier to just explain a concept and give an example.

Printing Coupons Online

The most popular site to use for printing coupons is Coupons.com. The coupons available change all the time, and you can find them for all kinds of popular grocery items. This is a great site to use if you have a printer, want to save money on your groceries, and you never remember to grab the coupons for the week out of the Sunday paper. Just check Coupons.com to see if they have coupons up for any of the grocery items you’re planning to buy, print them off, and save money.

If you have a smartphone, you may also want to check out this big list I have of apps that will actually pay you back for buying groceries.

Finding Online Coupon Codes

RetailMeNot – This is a popular coupon and promo code site.  It also has coupons, but seems to be more focused on coupon codes and promo codes, which are the same thing.  You find coupon codes to popular stores such as Kohl’s, JC Penney, and Bloomingdale’s.  You find the store and click the offer, which will be sent to you via email.

At checkout you will enter your promo code and save an additional 10%, 20% or whatever the offer states.  Sometimes you will need to spend a certain amount of money to get any money off.  For example, if you spend $100 at Best Buy, you will receive $10 off.

RetailMeNot also has their own exclusive offers that no other site will have.  Most all of their offers can also be used to order online at your favorite stores if you don’t want to go into the store.  You can also use their offers to order on Amazon as well.

Savings on Dining Out & Travel

Groupon – This site is very popular with those who like to dine out locally or find travel inside or outside of their area.  Known for its “deal of the day” that features great deals at local or well-known establishments, many users consult it daily.  Many shoppers use it as a way to shop locally and keep revenues in their county.

Groupon also offers discounts at local events as well as travel getaways.  The getaways can be local or even international with attractive discounts on resorts and hotels.  For savings on airfare and rental cars, there are sites such as Travelocity and Priceline.com.

You can also use Trivago to compare prices on hotels if to make absolutely sure you’re getting the best deal before you book a room.

Cashback Sites

Ebates – This easily recognized site is great for cashbacks.  Cashbacks are when you purchase something and receive money back either via your PayPal account or in the form of a check or gift card.  Retailers partner with sites like Ebates to allow shoppers to get money back on a variety of products.

There really isn’t much else to do to get the cashbacks other than browsing their websites for the offers.  Then either go online or go to the store to take advantage of these cashbacks.  Other popular cashback sites are Mr. Rebates and Fat Wallet.

Free Shipping On Online Orders

FreeShipping.org – This site is definitely for the serious online shopper.  Not only does it offer free shipping for the items, but also money off when using the coupon codes.  The site is easy to navigate.  Just find the items you want, click on the coupon code and go to the merchant’s website.  From there you will get a detailed description of the item with the coupon/promo code to type in when you place your order.

Clothes, sporting goods, pet supplies, and even groceries are offered there.

Online Financial Advice

While there is no dot com by this name—that I am aware—sometimes just having good, sound money saving advice from the experts can be a plus.  DaveRamsey.com is a great website for learning how to save money, get out of debt, save for college, invest, and a wealth (no pun intended) of other information updated on a regular basis.  Two others that come to mind are Suze Orman and Clark Howard.

Clark Howard and Dave Ramsey also occasionally endorse various work-at-home opportunities.

Now, you can begin to enjoy saving money and shopping hopefully guilt-free!  Let the shopping–and savings–begin.
