After weeks on the periphery, Palm Beach is at the center of this week’s luxury real estate action. Two of the week’s most expensive new listings are on the same street in this old-school ritzy Florida city— separated by only a few majestic mansions.
But that’s not the end of the Palm Beach story. We’re not counting the $137 million Palm Beach home of Netscape founder Jim Clark, which has yet to hit the MLS. Or a $95 million tear-down in the tony town, the subject of a recent New York Times story.
And while a $28.5 million Palm Beach mansion tops our look at the most expensive properties to hit the market this week, it’s far from the city’s priciest listing. In fact, it doesn’t even crack the city’s top 10 most expensive listings.
Aside from intrigue along the Intracoastal Waterway, we also ran across a NYC apartment belonging to entertainment mogul David Geffen, an L.A. estate on an infamous street in the Brentwood neighborhood, and a sleek and modern mansion on Miami Beach.

1. 1460 N Lake Way, Palm Beach, FL
Price: $28,500,000 ($1,825 per square foot)
Luxe factor: Situated right on the Intracoastal Waterway, this Plantation-style grand estate has a deep-water dock to park your yacht and a lovely outdoor loggia to watch the ships sail by. Belonging to financier (and former Palm Beach Town Council president) David Rosow, the five-bedroom mansion requires a buyer with a boatload of money.

2. 785 Fifth Ave Apt 17AB, New York City, NY
Price: $27,500,000 ($5,500 per square foot)
Luxe factor: It’s David Geffen‘s apartment! Located in the Parc V co-op, the two-bedroom unit features a bedroom converted into “a professionally designed sound proofed screening room with a state-of-the-art projectionist booth.” The entertainment mogul, who owns a penthouse in the same building, paid $14.17 million for this posh place six years ago, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Price: $27,000,000 ($1,887 per square foot)
Luxe factor: Just about a half-mile away from this week’s chart topper, this six-bedroom estate also offers gorgeous views of the Intracoastal Waterway. Belonging to a Merck pharmaceutical heir, the shingled (and airy) mansion is reminiscent of a Hamptons retreat.

4. 457 N Rockingham Ave, Los Angeles, CA
Price: $19,950,000 ($1,662 per square foot)
Luxe factor: If the address in the city’s Brentwood neighborhood sounds familiar—you have O.J. Simpson to blame. The criminal’s infamous (now demolished) former home was located at 360 N. Rockingham Ave. A mere block away is this luxurious seven-bedroom mansion with gorgeous views of Mandeville Canyon.

5. 2305 Lake Ave, Miami Beach, FL
Price: $19,500,000 ($1,969 per square foot)
Luxe factor: Located on the Sunset Islands of Miami Beach, this modern mansion was built by renowned local developer Todd Glaser. Purchased by the current owner in May 2014 for $14.3 million, it’s now on the market with a $5 million price hike.
