Okay, I'm embarking on my first subwoofer build and I have a question. I've been told the center of the coil winding height should be placed in reference to the center of the top plate. I'm still waiting to order a coil, but I'm wondering what the minimum safe clearance would be between the pole and the inside of the coil and between the gap and winding. The gap is 3.83" ID and 4.158" OD. I'm looking at a couple of coils with these specs: 3.901" ID and 4.095" OD and another with 3.9" ID with 4.136" OD. Which would you feel safer running?
