Sorry folks if I have offended over Sunday best, thats what we called it back then, as for the Irish I have had many good friends from Ireland and even got invited over to stay, toured both North and south lovely country. On my council estate in Shinfield rd. everyone wore their sunday best, on a sunday!!to the pub. Re. ROY EDWARDS of edwards radio, he was a frequent visitor to both the Friars tea bar and the whores bed back bar. (is that a slur?) he presented me with a set of architects drawings for a illuminated sign, they were having a new shopfront, I complied as I had branched out into illuminated signs to keep afloat in my free-lance occupation as Swift Displays, the architect called round to see who this newby was. I counted Roy as a good friend and Alan was pleased with the result. This single event was to change my life. Alan was very hot on design and somehow taught me the essentials of good design. I am a chronic dyslectic (some would say thick) cannot spell, have no idea of punctuation, can't add up, don't know the alphabet... However Alan showed me how to get round it all, we had two shop's, later I became what one might call successful.. In my move to smoke. My sincere apologies if I unintentionally offended anyone.
