Geater and Keep were builders but they have long gone and I now have no contacts at all, Up until about ten years ago My next door neighbour was part of the Geater family but she is also long gone to her eternal rest.
re the Broad Street/St Mary's Butts cross roads, On the south west corner was the White Hart, on the south east corner was Bailis the Grocers, on the north east corner was Burton's the tailors and on the north west corner was, I think a shoe shop.
I have not really got any idea how one could track down a dead bank account. The bank that your friend is thinking of could have been the National Provincial which were absorbed, again I think, into Barclays. She could try asking them, or, thinking a bit deeper the miht habee taken over by the Westminster Bank which is how it became Natwest.
