On 10-12 February 2016, Control Union Certifications conducted an audit at RDEX Food International Phils., Inc under the scope “the production of frozen
yellowfin tuna products”. The audit revolves on the
company’s implementation of the British Retail Consortium Global Standards for Food Safety, Issue 7.
Issue 7 is the latest version of the standard published last January 2015. It was updated to set the latest benchmark on the best practices in food manufacturing. British Retail Consortium is widely adopted not just throughout the UK but around the world.
On 5 May 2016 at Sun City Suites, General Santos City, after three months of waiting, Ms. Lorenz Tolentino of Control Union Certifications handed a framed certificate to Food Safety and Compliance Manager, Charlie M. Lozarita stating that RDEX Food International Phils., Inc passed the certification audit with the second to the highest grade of A on announced audits. Grade AA is the highest that can be given on announced audit.
Expressing his take on this recent milestone for RDEX, RDEX Team Leader, SVP-COO Roger E. Rivera said, ”If there is something that made this achievement possible, it is the team play; the cooperation of everyone. The team strives to level up, especially that the world is getting smaller and there is a need to be at par with the companies worldwide.”
Indeed, with the vision of Team RDEX in becoming a prominent food business entity in the global market, being certified on the said standard puts them on the right track for competing in the global market.
