Either way if you’re struggling with high blood pressure you’ll want to know what these ingredients are, and how to make some tasty juice recipes with them included!
Let’s get right to the juicing ingredients that are an ally to anyone who is needing to lower their blood pressure!
Juices For High Blood Pressure
Celery Juice: Compounds in celery juice help to reduce blood pressure by relaxing the muscles in and around the walls of the arteries. This helps to create more space for blood to flow at a lower pressure. Other compounds inside of celery juice lower stress levels, and have relaxing effects. Celery juice also contains Potassium, which is an essential nutrient for regulating our blood system. You can read more about these and the other health benefits of celery juice here.
Beet Juice: This amazing juice been shown to lower blood pressure very quickly after it is consumed. These positive effects not only last for hours after, but if beet juice is consumed on a daily basis it can have even greater effects over time. You can read a bit more about these benefits as well as other beet juice benefits right here.
Berry Juice: The main body of research and focus has been on blueberries, but strawberries and other berries have been mentioned as well. Anthocyanin pigments (a compound found in berries which gives them their color) have been found to lower blood pressure in those who consume them over a period of time. (aarp/blueberries)
It has also been indicated that flavanoids and other nutrients in blueberries aid in boosting nitric oxide, which has a positive effect on the cells that line blood vessel walls. This could also account for some of the blood pressure lowering abilities of blueberries.(medicaldaily/blueberries)
Spinach Juice: Contains folate(vitamin B9), iron, CoQ10, and magnesium which are powerful nutrients that help to maintain healthy blood pressure levels.
For magnesium to work fully with lowering your blood pressure you also need to be consuming calcium. Vitamin C and citric acid also help the type of iron found in spinach and other vegetables to become more absorb-able, so it is a good idea to add something like orange juice along. Orange juice also contains decent levels of calcium which will help with magnesium absorption. A couple of lower sugar substitutes other than oranges with vitamin C and citric acid would be lemons or limes.
Other Leafy Greens: Leafy greens contain a wide variety of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that can aid with high blood pressure. Some of these nutrients include folate and magnesium like spinach, but also include higher levels of absorb-able calcium as well as nitrates. Since these all work together to lower blood pressure, it is a good idea to get a good variety of leafy greens in your diet. Juicing can be a powerful way to get denser amounts of these into your body.
Garlic: Acts as a natural blood thinner, which helps to reduce blood pressure. Talk to your doctor if you are on blood pressure medications before consuming high amounts of garlic, as mixing these can have negative effects.
Ginger and Turmeric: Both of these spices have been shown to have positive effects for those who suffer with high blood pressure. You can add these to your juices in powder form by stirring them in, or you can juice them if they are available to you at your grocery store.(ncbi/ginger) (ncbi/turmeric)
If you are on medications for blood pressure be sure to talk to your doctor before including large amounts of ginger or turmeric in your juices. These can cause issues when taken together with medications that are aimed at lowering blood pressure.

Juicing Recipes For High Blood Pressure
A Note To Those That Are Newer To Juicing:
We advise that you go slow at first when using these juice recipes. Those who are newer to drinking juice might experience some nausea if they drink some of these juices too fast! This can be due to different factors such as detox, your body simply not being used to taking in so much vegetable and fruit juice, and some people do experience some side effects such as nausea and diarrhea when drinking a lot of beet juice specifically. Just take it slow and easy and you’ll most likely be ok.
Another suggestion is to make your juice and drink it slowly throughout the day. You will want to store your juice properly when doing this so that it retains its freshness and nutritional value.
Also if you’re on any kind of blood pressure medication, or other medications be sure to check with your doctor first before drinking these juices.
