A nurse from Lakewood, Wash., definitely gave her employer a piece of her mind.

Sara Childers worked at Western State Hospital before resigning seven months later. Childers decided to order large cake from Walmart and have it delivered to the Forensics Ward 2 of the hospital, according to KOMO-TV.

Instead of writing a formal resignation letter, she sent the colorful cake to her co-workers which read, “Western State Hospital: I QUIT!!!” and “Official Notice” with the date written in black icing.

Above that was a sweet message that read, “Forensics 2 Swing Shift: I [Heart] you!”

Childers also signed her name at the bottom right of the cake.

“I kind of just wanted to laugh with everybody again when I left,” Childers told KOMO-TV.

Childers had a lot to say about the hospital.

“It’s such a large institution. It could do so much so good, but it’s just one of the worst places right now,” she told KOMO-TV.

She told KOMO-TV that staff are overworked and underpaid, and that management focuses more time on mistakes and punishment.

“How do we control the population with such little staff and so many patients? And you can’t have individualized treatment that way,” Childers told KOMO-TV.

She said her co-workers got a kick out of her clever resignation.

Kathleen Spears of the Washington state Department sent a statement to the Huffington Post which said: “This was quite likely the most unique ‘letter’ of resignation ever submitted to Western State Hospital. Meanwhile, we thank the 2,000 dedicated staff members who do come to work day and night because they find it both challenging and rewarding to help our patients on their journey to recovery.”

Even though Childers resignation was pretty creative, others have taken several different approaches when quitting their jobs.

What a SWEET departure!
