Sh.A.K.Puthia General Manager/Northern Railway reviewed the progress of the o­ngoing Construction project of Tughalkabad-Palwal 4thline today. He undertook an inspection of the 10 km long Palwal-Asauti section of this project, which was slated for completion during the week. He was accompanied by Shri H.K.Jaggi, Chief Administrative Officer, Northern Railway, Kashmere Gate, Delhi, Shri Akhil Agrawal, Chief Signal & Telecom Engineer, Northern Railway, Shri Sanjeev Garg, Chief Operations Manager, Northern Railway, Shri Gyan Prakash Srivatsava, Chief Commercial Manager and Shri Arun Arora, Divisional Railway Manager, Northern Railway, Delhi.

The construction of the 33.5 km long fourth line is primarily aimed to ease bottlenecks for rail traffic flow between Delhi and Mathura. Northern Railway had undertaken up-gradation of traffic facilities and yard remodelling facilities to enable higher operational capabilities and flexibility o­n this section. The 10 km long stretch of rail line between Palwal and Asauti stations also necessitated installation of new signalling panels in new panel buildings at these stations. The state-of-the-art Route Relay interlocking has been commissioned at both stations. RRI cabins have also been commissioned at the other five stations viz, Piyala, Ballabhgarh, Faridabad Town, Faridabad Old and Tughlakabad Jn cabin. Alongside, Northern Railway is also undertaking the other enhancement works which includes increase in length of different lines with higher clear standing rooms and provision of shunting necks to allow shunting to take place clear of main lines and thereby reduce time lags and enable operational ease.
