-The 2015 CMA nominations were announced yesterday, and ERIC CHURCH and LITTLE BIG TOWN each picked up five. Officially. Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush” is also nominated for Song of the Year, but they didn’t write it.

Little Big Town is also up for Best Vocal Group . . . while Eric broke through big, in getting his first Entertainer of the Year nomination. He’s up against LUKE BRYAN, GARTH BROOKS, KENNY CHESNEY, and MIRANDA LAMBERT.

CHRIS STAPLETON is a Male Vocalist and New Artist of the Year nominee, and his album “Traveller” is up for Album of the year. He’s no household name, but musicians love him.

Finally, KELSEA BALLERINI picked up a New Artist of the Year nomination and then surprised everyone with a nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year.

“The 49th Annual CMA Awards” are going down November 4th on ABC. CARRIE UNDERWOOD and BRAD PAISLEY are back hosting for the eighth year in a row.

-JIMMY KIMMEL is planning a special post-CMA Awards show on November 4th. “Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the CMAs” will feature performances and special guests from the CMAs, although no names have been announced yet.

-CHRIS YOUNG opens up about the writing of “I’m Comin’ Over” during an episode of the Grand Ole Opry’s “Story Behind the Song”. He also reflects on his career as a singer and songwriter.

-In case you missed this: CAM got engaged last weekend to her boyfriend, a guy named Adam Weaver. She posted a photo of the ring on her hand on Facebook . . . and captioned it, “My rock gave me a rock. My heart’s over the moon.”
