Allie Ostrander dotted the “i” on an impressive cross country running season outracing the field for the 2013 ASAA 4A State Cross Country Running championship on the Bartlett High School.
4A Girls State Meet Results
Ostrander recorded her second-straight state championship on Saturday, pulling away from the field and posting a 17:49 for the 5-kilometer race; more than a minute ahead of second place Alex Mathis of Wasilla.
The Soldotna Star girls turned-in their top performance at the state meet, finishing as state runner-up behind West Anchorage and ahead of Region III 4A champion Wasilla. The Star girls placed four runners in the top-28. Olivia Hutchings lead the Stars with a 4th-place finish; Dani McCormick, 8th; Daisy Nelson, 23rd; Sadie Fox, 28th; and Emily Werner, 47th. Hutchings, McCormick, Nelson and Fox won the state championship in the 4 X 800 relay at the 2012 state track championships in May.
4A Boys State Meet Results
Kenai’s Jordan Theisen and Jonah Theisen finished third and fourth in the 4A boys championship event. Kodiak’s Levi Thomet raced to his second state title.
3A Girls State Meet Results
The Homer Mariners girls produced a second place team finish behind the reigning 3A champion Grace Christian girls.
3A Boys State Meet Results
Skyview’s Micah Hilbish closed-out the season with an 11th-place finish. Daniel Servanti of Grace took the boys 3A title leading the Grace boys to another 3A championship.
