Hilcorp Alaska LLC along with a group of regional stakeholders have reached a settlement to consolidate four pipelines into one system.

The settlement which was accepted on August 29th consolidates the Kenai Nikiski Pipeline, Kenai Kachemak Pipeline, Cook Inlet Gas Gathering System, and Beluga Pipeline into one system called the Kenai Beluga Pipeline.

That system will be owned and operated by the Kenai Beluga Pipeline, LLC, a newly formed but indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of Hilcorp Alaska.

Along with the Alaska Attorney General, the parties involved are Aurora Gas, LLC, Chugach Electric Association, Inc., ConocoPhillips Alaska Natural Gas Corporation, Cook Inlet Energy LLC, Hilcorp Alaska LLC, Matanuska Electric Association, the Municipality of Anchorage doing business as Municipal Light & Power, Tesoro Alaska Company LLC, ENSTAR Natural Gas Company, Alaska Pipeline Company, and Cook Inlet Natural Gas Storage Alaska, LLC.

The Kenai Beluga Pipeline will now prepare an application for a certificate of convenience and public necessity in order to begin operations by November 1 of this year.

Expansion of the system provisions are also included included in that settlement.
