Alpha Medias acquisitions of Morris Radio and Digity Media quickly brought

the company from around 100 stations to 251 stations in 54 markets. Not

since the years of rapid consolidation following the Telecommunications Act

of 1996 have we seen a radio group operator grow so rapidly. Since the

start of 2015 weve seen Alpha acquire clusters in suburban San Francisco,

Fredericksburg, Lubbock, and Salt Lake City along with the two group

acquisitions. Alpha Media didnt exist at all prior to Larry Wilson merging

LL Broadcasting with his Portland, OR stations in April 2014. Once the

Alternative 94.3 The X Debuts In Fort Collins

As previously announced Townsquare Media flipped 94.3 KMAX-FM

Wellington/Fort Collins, CO to Alternative 94.3 The X at noon today.

KMAX-FM had been stunting since Saturday afternoon with formats of the day

including CHR, Tween Hits, and Christmas music after discarding its

previous Active Rock 94.3 Loudwire identity. The new format is being

positioned as Front Range Alternative and featuring a playlist of songs

As CBS Radio makes talent changes nationwide, Dr. Don Carpenter is stepping

down from his role leading the Country 99.5 WYCD Detroit morning show.

Carpenter has been with the station from soon after its launch in 1993 and

in mornings since 2003. He states he is not retiring but transitioning to a

new role with the station that will keep him around for special broadcasts

and youll hear me on commercials for the companies I have endorsement deals

Cumulus Hires New Los Angeles Market Manager

Following the exit of Marko Radlovic in June, Cumulus Media has hired Dawn

Girocco as its new VP/Market Manager in Los Angeles. Girocco has worked

throughout the Los Angeles market in her career and was most recently

General Sales Manager for iHeartMedias Real 92.3 KRRL, Alt 98.7 KYSR, and

102.7 KIIS-FM. She has also served as VP/Director of Sales for CBS Radio

Los Angeles, SVP/Advertising for the Los Angeles Times, and GM of Indie

103.1 KDLD/KDLE. Her role overseeing Classic Rock 95.5 KLOS and Talk 790

Alpha Media Acquires Digity

Alpha Media continues to grow at an expeditious pace as it nearly doubles

in size with the acquisition of Digity Media and its 116 stations for an

undisclosed price. Digity was founded in 2013 when Dean Goodman purchased

NextMedias radio holdings and merged them with his Palm Beach Broadcasting

and GoodRadio.TV groups. The company then acquired Three Eagle

Communications in 2014 to give them 113 stations across thirteen states.

Among the markets Alpha will be expanding into are suburban Chicago and

Dallas, Lincoln, Myrtle Beach, San Jose and West Palm Beach along with a
