John Legend has one of the most iconic voices of this generation, but lately, he’s been beefing up his resume with an impressive acting career.
He’s set to appear in La La Land this December. The film stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, and it’s already generating some major Oscar buzz.

The 37-year-old singer-songwriter is also making a cameo in Underground, portraying Frederick Douglass in the WGN America series he also produces. But Legend insists at the end of the day, he’ll never abandon his musical roots.
“For me, music still comes first,” he told Carson Daly on 97.1 AMP Radio. “I love working with my production company…I don’t think I want to do a lot of acting, but I think there are times when some of the stuff we’re producing calls for me to be involved as an actor in it as well. So, I’ll get involved in that way, but most of the time I’m just going to be making music and going out on the road.”
