DJ Quik was one of the pioneers of west coast hip-hop being a member of Death Row in its heyday alongside Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Tupac. Six weeks ago, Quik tweeted “guess what Compton rapper I’m about to sue” though he promptly deleted the tweet.

Last night, the Compton legend went public accusing YG and his management of not giving him credit over the platinum song “My Hitta,” which also features Rich Homie Quan.

@stampedemgmt, Y'all had me engineer and record My Nigga for @YG and did not give me credit. My Lawyer has You His sights. You've fucked up

@YG @Jeezy shoot me my engineering credits for stemming and recording vocals on your platinum song My Hitta or whatever u call it.

@Jeezy @stampedemgmt @YG
and shoot my Platinum plaque to:
Dj Quik.
I'll wait.

Quik is now both a rapper and a producer having worked on numerous albums over the years while even still releasing his own album in April 2016 titled Rosecrans. What adds an extra layer to this budding feud is that both Quik and YG are Compton-born rappers and belong to the Treetop Piru Bloods. Quik goes on to add another level by telling YG to watch his back in the streets.

@YG be safe on the block I invented

DJ Quik (@djquik) August 08, 2016

You don't FUCK with Dj Quik

He even went so far as to bring old friend, Snoop, into the conversation as he is represented by Stampede Management with YG.

@stampedemgmt @SnoopDogg aren't you all the same company ?b

This will be in the press in the morning assholes

Once upon a time, DJ Quik had a feud with another Compton rapper, MC Eiht, as many would remember as a star in Menace II Society. The classic song ‘Dollaz + Sense’ is considered one of the best rap diss tracks. Snoop Dogg was instrumental in bringing the two together again but not after nearly a decade of feuding. We’ll see if Snoop can do it once again and unite the west coast.
