Arcade Fire and filmmaker Kahlil Joseph are reportedly teaming for a new film project surrounding the band’s music.

Pitchfork reports that Joseph, who’s collaborated in the past with Kendrick Lamar and Flying Lotus, screened a raw edit of the project for film students at the California Institute for the Arts.

However, it’s unclear what the film would entail — if it’s something creating utilizing existing Arcade Fire music or if it will feature something brand new from the band.

But Joseph has certainly worked with the rockers on a video posted to the Lux Artists Ltd. website showcasing a live version of the band’s “Afterlife” from 2013’s Reflektor.

Additionally, Pitchfork notes, a director of photography on the Lux site, Lol Crawley, lists Arcade Fire: Reflektor Tapes, apparently created by Joseph, on his resume. So whatever the project is, it appears to have something to do with the band’s newest album, perhaps as a concert film of sorts.

Arcade Fire have not commented on the project.

Joseph worked with Kendrick Lamar on m.A.A.d., a short film surrounding the rapper’s most recent album that premiered in August at the Sundance NEXT Fest.
