(White Tears in the comments of "Shit White Girls Say…to Black Girls")

So to celebrate hitting 10 millions views, I’ve pulled a few of my favorite and most recent white tears from the comments. Sadly, with over 35k comments I can’t include everyone, but you’re more than welcome to check them out first hand and chime in ;)

I don’t know, this type of thing isn’t offensive to me… But it is to some people.

And it IS true that we could never make this video in reverse. We’d be attacked by the whole internet for being racist.

The double standard is bullshit, for sure.

This is only slightly relevant but I find it incredibly annoying that the comments with the negative votes are not really overly negative and/or much different from comments with no negative votes/lots of positive votes. I also find that nobody tags spam correctly and usually something is tagged as spam if it is an unpopular (but not always incorrect or rude) opinion comment.

YouTube. The internet community is so judgemental because it’s semi-anonymous and you can literally run away from your mistakes. It annoys me.

I just love how it generalized and dismissed any claim against it as racist and scopes them “white tears". THAT’S racist. Or at least bigoted.

Let’s address these reblogs, shall we?

maamsugarswipe argues that because she “isn’t allowed" to create the reverse of SWGSTBG that there’s a double standard….How about no. One of Shane Dawson’s (the 33rd most subscribed person YouTube with over 4 million subscribers) most popular characters is Shanaynay, a “black" woman that regularly talks about sucking dick, having abortions, shooting people and “being ghetto". While it’s obvious that this is a character based on racist stereotypes THAT ACTUALLY EFFECT MY DAILY LIFE he’s not being blasted all over the internet. White people have been imitating and stereotyping black people for CENTURIES. The stereotypes that exist about black people were CREATED by white people and have lead to the imprisonment, discrimination, marginalization, oppression and MURDERS of black people. A comical video about stupid things SOME ("omg we aren’t all like that!") white girls say is in NO WAY taking away your rights or making life harder for you as a white girl. Meanwhile, stereotypes about black people do exactly that.

So if you want to talk about double standards, let’s examine REAL double standards that favor white people and make life harder for black people and other POC. Let’s talk about how stop and frisk targets minorities over white people, or how affirmative action and legacies actually benefit white women more than anyone else but everyone assumes that black people are being given free college rides over deserving white people, or let’s talk about how voter ID laws and the recent changes to the voter rights act target minorities making it harder for them to vote in upcoming elections, let’s talk about the ACTUAL systematic oppression of POC and instead of “there’s a double standard against white people because we can’t dress up and imitate black people on the internet anymore! waah!"

avotica thinks this is an appropriate time to derail the conversation to talk about how comments are “unfairly" marked as spam or down voted even though they “aren’t bad". Meanwhile, for the past few days one of the top comments on my video was one calling me a baboon….and the comments marked as spam in my screen shots included, “i think you’re an affront to the black race…go join those lazy mexicans" Let’s focus on how “judgmental" the YouTube community is instead of how racist they are. Thanks!

drakonsamael LOVES how claims of reverse racism are “automatically dismissed". Meanwhile a large majority of the screen shots I included simultaneously accuse me of being racist while then BEING RACIST. For example, “I wear black face all the time…go back with the other lazy mexicans" and “it’s so hard being the superior race sometimes" and my favorite “Nigger is racist towards white people too because we aren’t allowed to say it" but my joking about these comments and calling them “white tears" makes ME the racist. Oh ok.

So what’s the moral of the story here? Well, clearly lots of white people still don’t understand what racism is, thus resulting in white tears. (oh shit. i said it again, please cry some more) To them, racism is that one time a black girl called them a cracker, made fun of their poor attempt at twerking. Or me putting on a blonde wig and mocking stupid shit white girls say.

In reality, racism is a result of prejudice and POWER that one group has to create a system of oppression against another group of people. Daily Kos put it perfectly when they described Racism as "patterns of discrimination that are institutionalized as “normal" throughout an entire culture. It’s based on an ideological belief that one “race" is somehow better than another “race".  It’s not one person discriminating at this point, but a whole population operating in a social structure that actually makes it difficult for a person not to discriminate." So to reiterate, racism not your fee fee’s being hurt by my YouTube video or it’s comments.

A comedic social commentary video examining micro-agressions (look that up) that black people deal with on a daily basis IS NOT RACIST TOWARDS WHITE PEOPLE. It does not hurt your prospects of getting a job, owning a home, make people assume you’re a criminal or drug addict or worst of all that your life is less meaningful (see Trayvon Martin). The perception of white girls has in no way been negatively effected by this video. It is doing NOTHING to take away your rights or make your life as a white person more difficult. So please, have a fucking stadium full of seats.

Chesca Leigh’s viral video about microaggressions, “Shit White Girls Say..to Black Girls" recently hit 10 million views on YouTube, so she decided to showcase the worst comments she has received. Here is her response to the response.
