3 of my oldest and dearest friends and I recently returned from

a little girlfriend's getaway! We ventured North to Frankenmuth, Michigan,

Michigan's Little Bavaria.

What a beautiful and friendly town.

Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, the world's biggest Christmas store!

There are gorgeous, well tended flowers every where in town. We enjoyed

fun little shops, a river boat tour, horse

drawn carriage rides and delicious restaurants.

Zehender's of Frankenmuth is a tradition with all who visit the area.

Their family style, all you can eat chicken dinners

are oh so filling & delicious!

The Bavarian Inn was such fun for lunch. German bands and dancing and this

yummy, and geographically correct, pot pie too!

Zehnder's Holz Brucke (German for wooden bridge)

looks as though it could have been plucked

up from the Black Forest or a river valley in

Switzerland and planted astride the Cass River in

the middle of town. Though completed in 1979,

the architects were faithful to traditional covered

bridge timber framing techniques.

Wilkommen. Of course in German it means

welcome...and we felt just that in Frankenmuth. Welcome!

Warmly,

Susie Q
