Teachers and educators are offered discounts at many businesses, you just need to know to ask in most cases. Here’s a list of businesses that offer teacher/educator discounts.

Some of these discounts require membership in a rewards program, but not all of them. Each website details the ID or proof you need to receive the discount. Some of these discounts are extended to students, homeschoolers, librarians, and professors. Check the linked website for complete details.

Arts, Crafts, & School Supplies

The Container Store – Various discounts throughout the year when you sign up for the Organized Teacher Program

Office Max – $10 in rewards for every $75 spent on qualifying purchases, up to $100 in rewards every year
Allows educators to get more than the limit on the best back-to-school deals each week

FedEx Office – 15% off nearly all FedEx Office products and services, in-store and online

Staples – 5% back in rewards for in-store and online purchases and free shipping for online purchases
Allows educators to get more than the limit on the best back-to-school deals each week

Joann Fabric - 15% off all purchases (also good for homeschoolers)

Michaels – 15% off all purchases

Party City – 10-20% off purchases, requires a signed letter on official letterhead

Books & Media

Barnes & Noble – 20% off publisher’s list price on purchases for classroom use

Half Price Books - 10% discount on purchases with Educator’s Discount Card (also good for homeschoolers and librarians)

Book Warehouse – 15% discount on in-store purchases (also extended to home-school teachers, librarians, and professors)

The New York Times – special subscription rate of $7.50 for four weeks, plus the first four weeks are $0.99

Clothing

The Limited – 15% off in-store purchases (good for students, too!)

Aerosoles - 15% off any footwear purchase of $39.99 or more

New York and Co. – 15% off in-store purchases

J. Crew  &  J. Crew Factory Stores – 15% off in-store purchases (good for college students, too!)

J. Jill – 15% off full-price, in-store purchases

Banana Republic – 15% off full-price, in-store purchases (good for students, too!)

Electronics & Software

Apple Store - Discounts on computers and accessories through the Apple Education Store. Offer extended to librarians, home schoolers and professors

Cell Phone Companies (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint) – Discount varies by provider, but teachers can save up to 20 percent a month. Call your service provider

Adobe – Shop the Adobe Education Store and receive discounts on select software, including bundles and suites. Requires proof of employment as an educator

Attractions & Theme Parks

SeaWorld – K-12 teachers in Florida, Texas and Southern California get unlimited free admission for the year

Legoland Florida – one year free admission for Florida K-12 teachers get one year of free admission

Legoland California – free admission for California teachers on certain weekends in 2013 and 2014
