Rise and Shine is my way of sitting down and having a cup of coffee with you! We talk about the new deals of the day, highlights from yesterday, and anything else that might help us save time, money or energy. Published Monday through Friday – as I’m able.

Good morning! How was your weekend? We had a fun weekend – a good mix of chores and fun! Friday night we went to a high school football game and although the team we were rooting for didn’t win – it’s always fun to be under the Friday Night lights. The weather was so gorgeous – we were sitting in the bleachers in t-shirts – something that rarely happens in October in Washington!

Saturday I tried a couple new crockpot recipes – expect a new crockpot recipe this afternoon!

Yesterday we took a family trip up to the Point Defiance Zoo!  We hadn’t been in a very long time and with sunshine and 75 degrees on the forecast, it was the perfect day to go. Grateful for the chance to soak in the sun and create meaningful memories with our kiddos. Point Defiance Zoo does have some fun promotions coming up – save $3 off general admission October 18-19 when you wear a costume and Veteran’s Day Appreciation days November 10 – 11.

Yesterday, October 5, was the FIVE year anniversary of the day I started this little ole blog. See my very first post here. I remember the first time I hit publish on a post. At the time I had no idea that I could support my family with this site. So much has changed since that first post – we’ve gone through a couple blog designs, we’ve seen dozens of coupon policy changes, I’ve hired (amazing) people to help me deliver deals so I could balance work/family and still make my family a priority. . . . but one thing that HASN’T changed and that’s my commitment to delivering real deals, in real time. There isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not overwhelmed with gratitude that my job is also my passion – and I’m grateful that you follow my site when I know there are thousands out there. In the last five years, we’ve had 23 MILLION PAGE views here at Queen Bee and more importantly I believe we’ve saved millions of dollars with the deals we’ve been able to pick up with coupons, sale, rebates, online sales and being frugal at home. Who knows what the next five years has in store for us – but I hope you’ll continue on this journey with me!   Expect some fun giveaways this week to celebrate!

Can you believe we’re already almost a week into October? Yesterday we shared our first collection of the Best Halloween Candy Deals for this year. We want to help you spend less this Halloween – especially on the sweets, so twice a week we’ll post the best candy deals (Wednesdays and Saturdays) – so you don’t have to pay scary prices!
