Good morning! How was your weekend? I shared some photos from our weekend over on the Queen Bee Coupons Instagram page. I kicked off Friday night taking the kids to a fall festival – they had fun getting all dressed up and playing games.
Saturday my husband and I headed south to Portland for a kid-free night and to catch the Patty Griffin concert at the Aladdin Theater. I love her music and her song Heavenly Day is one of my favorite songs ever. I heard it when I was nearly nine months pregnant with my son, on a gloriously lazy summer day, with the sun shining and blue skies as far as you could see – and it brings me back there every time I hear it. 
We met up for dinner with our long-time friends from college – we ate at an amazing Latin American restaurant, Teote. On Sunday we had to enjoy a fantastic locally sourced brunch, as all good Portland people do. 
The trip was my birthday gift from Mr. Queen Bee and it was great fun.
While walking through the Portland Alberta Arts district Sunday morning (love that area), we stopped into a charming toy store and I found this Skippity game on clearance for the kids. We came home and played four or five games last night – although the concept is insanely simple, it was really fun. I think it’s a keeper and I think it would definitely make a great gift idea for kids ages 5 or older. What are some of your favorite board games for young kids – under the age of 10?? I hope for peace in our kid’s hearts and solutions for keeping our schools safe and nurturing so that we don’t have to lose any more kids or educators through such senseless acts of violence.
