Rise and Shine is my way of sitting down and having a cup of coffee with you! We talk about the new deals of the day, highlights from yesterday, and anything else that might help us save time, money or energy. I share with you what’s happening with me – and I LOVE to hear about what’s happening with you.

Good morning! Well I have a little secret – we just got back from an EIGHT day road trip, driving 1,700 miles to see family in Eastern Washington, Idaho and Montana. I have so much to tell you. We had so many fun experiences – like “camping” at Glacier National Park (we saw a bear!) and checking out some landmarks. We did many frugal and FREE things along the way that I want to tell you all about. But it’s going to take some time for me to process it all, edit my photos and get them put together so they make sense. We are grateful to be home and have loads of laundry and an empty fridge. If the blog seemed a little random and sporadic this past week it was because I would be feverishly blogging whenever we had cell service (not often in Montana!). I always appreciate that you stick with me, even when I’m a little all over the place (figuratively and literally). This was our last hurrah for the summer – my husband is a school teacher and football coach, and he starts practice this next week and school soon. Then back to the school year routine.

Driving over from Eastern Washington yesterday we stopped at Thorp Fruit and Antique Mall and I bought a 25 pound box of local peaches for $10.70 – comes out to $0.43 a pound! Great price. I gave some to our neighbor who watched our chickens, but I need to figure out what to do with the rest today. I got lots of suggestions on Facebook - many of you suggested canning, but I’m scared to try it. Ridiculous, I know. We will see what I figure out and I’ll keep you posted!

We will have new grocery ads up later today. QFC is ready and will be posted shortly after Rise and Shine this morning! Today is the last day of the Buy 5, Save $5 promo at QFC.

Sunday I posted a major round-up of the best school supply deals this week.  I added ShopKo and Dollar Tree as they both seem to have good deals this week. What stores are you finding have the best Back to School bargains?
