Good morning! We are enjoying Bemidji, Minnesota so much! Yesterday we spent the day with my grandma’s brother and his wife. They live on a small lake north of Bemidji and we spent the day playing in the water. My son has been asking to go fishing since we started our trip and he could not be more HAPPY after spending the yesterday catching and releasing fish – on a lake my grandma used to fish on as a little girl. He had all the fisherman’s luck and his excitement never waned – every fish he caught was like the first one – complete and utter JOY. It warmed my heart seeing him so full of excitement. I grew up fishing alongside my dad on the rivers in Alaska (and ice fishing on the lakes in the winter) – even memorizing dozens of lures and cleaning fish like a pro. It’s been years since I’ve fished for freshwater fish – and I’m afraid I’m out of practice, but now that he is officially HOOKED on fishing we will have to figure out a way to work this into our travels. 
Rise and Shine is a little later than normal today because we went to breakfast at my mom’s cousin’s local bakery, Raphael’s here in downtown Bemidji. What a treat it was! We had a delicious breakfast and took home some doughnuts for later today. If you’re in town – you must check it out! They have a huge selection of breads, rolls, cakes, cupcakes, doughnuts and more.
