There has been a Lot of Info`in the German News and Press today regarding a new Lada SUV which is being built with the Renault / Nissan Alliance, so there will most probably be a lot of the Alliance Parts going into this model. I have tried to put some facts that I found together as all that is available here at present is in German – Dave
The Alliance : On 12 December 2012, the Renault–Nissan Alliance became the long-term controlling shareholder of AvtoVAZ, Russia’s largest car company and owner of the country's biggest selling brand, Lada. According to the terms of the deal, Renault–Nissan is investing RUB23 billion (US$742 million) for 67.13% of the joint venture by mid-2014. As part of the deal, Renault–Nissan Chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn will become chairman of the board of the joint venture, called Alliance Rostec Auto BV. The Alliance’s market share objective in Russia is to expand from 33 to 40% by 2015 with AvtoVAZ. With AvtoVAZ, the Renault–Nissan Alliance builds Renault, Nissan, and Lada models at its plant in Togliatti. The assembly line has a maximum capacity of 350,000 cars per year. The Alliance also has plants in Moscow, St Petersburg, and Izhevsk. With the Togliatti improvements and those planned at other manufacturing complexes, Renault–Nissan and AVTOVAZ will have a Russian capacity of at least 1.7 million cars per year starting in 2016. The investment in Russia began in February 2008, when Renault acquired a 25% share in AVTOVAZ.
The Lada X-RAY : was first shown as a concept car produced by the Russian car manufacturer AvtoVAZ in August 2012 at the Moscow International Automobile Salon and the Lada X-RAY Concept 2, debuted in August 2014.
The crossover receives an equally edgy styling complete with a leather coated seating arrangement, along with a futuristic dashboard and infotainment system. It has a stylish exterior, featuring a pair of long and thin headlights. The front grille looks almost like an “X” when you look at it.
AvtoVAZ kept its Lada X-RAY SUV under tight security and it was a surprise when it was debuted at the Moscow Motor Show. It was mentioned that Lada X-RAY’s cabin also continues the progressive design of the exterior. The car was created on the basis of the Dacia Sandero hatchback produced by the Renault–Nissan Alliance, which has control over AvtoVAZ, but features an original design, engines, gearboxes and various options, unavailable for the Sandero in the Russian market. The first car body was assembled in Togliatti in October 2015 for testing, whereas the actual production of market vehicles started in December 2015. The first X-RAYs are expected to appear in the Russian market in 14 February 2016.
The X-Ray is an SUV / 5 Door Hatch / Front Engine / Front Wheel Drive / Similiar to the Dacia Sandero, Lada Largus Cross / Engines 1,6L 106Hp, 1,6L 110Hp, 1,8L 123Hp / 5 Speed Manual, 5 Speed Semi-Auto Box.
