Riders, we are just under two months away from the greatest annual spectacle in Offshore PWC Racing ~ The 2016 Hot Products Long Beach to Catalina & Back (LB2CAT) Offshore Endurance National Championships presented by Jettrim, Hydro-Turf, Sea-Doo, Sea-Tow, Jet Re-Nu, Oakley, Kawasaki, Amsoil, Skat-Trak, Yamaha, West Coast Watercraft Club, PWCOFFSHORE.com, Watercraft Rider scheduled for Sunday, July 17th at 9:30 a.m. The 52 mile round trip endurance race is one of the oldest Offshore PWC endurance races and the hallmark of Offshore Endurance racing in the United States. Racer's from across the country & Canada will descend on Long Beach for their chance at winning the most prestigous LB2CAT trophy and their share of the prize money for the IJSBA National Championship event. The race is true test of man/woman vs machine and the elements as water conditions can be deceptively calm yet turn dangerously rough during the channel crossing and both the rider and their craft must be able to handle the punishment that Mother Nature can dish out. Most of the competitors practice for this race which is open to all comer's from the hardcore offshore rider to the average pwc enthusiast.
IJSBA National champions will be crowned in all classes; Pro/Am Open, Vet/Master Open, 4 Stroke Stock, 4 Stroke Naturally Aspirated Open and Manufacturer’s Stock (completely stock, no mods whatsoever*). A minimum of $1,000 purse and giveaways for the Top 3 overall will be an added incentive as the news of the weekend of racing stirs interest in the entire pwc community to enter and be a part of this great annual race.
Offshore racers from across the country and Canada will compete with the elite West Coast group of offshore endurance experts try to break the records in every class including the new overall record set 1 year ago by 6 time LB2CAT Champion Craig Warner, #7 Monster Energy, Factory Kawasaki, PwcOffshore.com from Ackworth, GA when he broke the existing record that stood for over 10 years on his way to his 6th overall win with a blistering time of 51 Mins 21 seconds for the challenging channel crossing proving why he's the man to beat. However, the 3 time Hot Products Dana Point to Oceanside & Back winner Mike Klippenstein, Ft. MacMurray, AL, Canada on his #212 Yamaha R & D T1 Turbo fresh off his 3rd consecutive win at Round #1 The Hot Products Dana Point to Oceanside & Back looks to challenge Warner for the overall which pits Kawasaki vs. Yamaha for dominance in this event. Past class winners including; Tom Cruz, Oceanside, CA #5 Kawasaki 300X in the Vet/Master class, Curtis Marker, Oceanside, CA #24 Yamaha FX SVHO in the 4 Stroke Stock Class, Ryan Ellefson, #29 Yamaha FX SVHO from Menifee, CA in the 4 Stroke Naturally Aspirated class & Michael Perry Corona, CA #27 Kawasaki 300X from the Manufacturer Stock class will be on hand to defend their 2015 IJSBA National Championship titles.
