Igi Boy Flores is thankful to be part of the primetime hit soap Forevermore. The former Goin’ Bulilit star admitted that he is overwhelmed by the success of the show considering that it is the first time that its lead stars have worked together. Igi Boy plays the role of Momon, one of the best friends of Xander (Enrique Gil).
“Sobrang honored ako, sobrang nagpapasalamat ako kay direk Cathy (Garcia-Molina) sa Star Creatives, kanila Ms. Malou (Santos) kasi kinuha nila ako don from [She’s Dating the] Gangster biglang nag-Forevermore. Sobrang saya at tsaka ngayon sobrang hit na hit ‘yung Forevermore na iisipin mo ‘yung love team ni Liza (Soberano) at ni Quen (Enrique Gil) parang experimental lang. Sobrang nagpapasalamat din ako sa fans kasi sinuportahan nila kasi nagdanhan sila sa performance namin,” he said in an interview with Push.com.ph.
The young actor also dished out some details about Enrique and Liza’s closeness off-cam. “They are really comfortable with each kunwari if nasa eksena sila pag-uusapan nila ‘Ganito ‘yung gagwin ko ha? Okay lang ba?’ sabi ni Liza ‘Oo sige lang.’ Tapos ‘yung bonding nila off-cam sobrang good, sobrang ganda rin tapos nag-uusap sila, nag-uusap sila tungkol sa mga pangyayari sa buhay,” he shared.
Igi Boy further relayed that he believes that chances are good that the two Forevermore leads will end up together in real life in the near future. “May chance naman kasi si Enrique vocal naman siya sa fact na gusto niya si Liza eh di ba sinabi niya ‘yun, it depends on Liza na lang when she turns 18 so sa nakikita ko naman nagkakamabutihan naman sila. Malaki ang chance ni Enrique, konting push pa, konting tiyaga pa, patience.”
Besides his stint on the primetime show, Igi Boy is also part of the movie Kid Kulafu which tells the life story of the young Manny Pacquiao. “Sobrang saya ko na part ako ng Kid Kulafu. Ang role ko dito ako si Baste, isa ako sa magpapahirap sa buhay ni Pacquiao.” The young star said that he learned numerous essential lessons while doing the movie. “Na-realize ko na bago mo marating ‘yung gusto mong maabot, may pagdadaanan kang mga obstacles, na kailangan mo ng sipag at tiyaga, na kailangan mo ng dasal para malagpasan mo lahat ng ‘yun.”
