The Purpose Media team has doubled in size to 34 over the last year, but it’s not all been down to our high-profile acquisitions.

As well as recruiting experienced experts to deliver our new services, we’re also invested in bringing in young talent through our apprentice scheme, with a commitment to finding raw talent.

Our most recent fresh-faced apprentices are Olly Torrance, Seb Wilson and Ollie Henderson…

Meet the apprentices

Olly Torrance

Olly will be joining our digital marketing consultants to learn about all things marketing – shadowing Pete, Mitch and Rob in the process.

If you’re currently working with any of our consultants, you may be joined by Olly as he looks to build up his client rapport. Give him a few questions and test out his digital knowledge.

Olly said: “I’m really happy to be joining Purpose Media to get further insight into the development of websites and how to successfully use digital marketing.

“It’s really exciting to be joining a modern, expanding business. I’m looking forward to being on my own professional journey whilst helping out with the company’s expansion.”

Olly has previously worked in retail after finishing his A levels in English language, psychology and history. Outside of work, he enjoys football refereeing and is working on his level-5 FA qualifications in his free time.

Ollie Henderson

Ollie has slotted into our client support team, guided by our experienced client services director Rob Marshall and former-apprentice and support desk manager Lewis Angell.

He’ll be working on a variety of client projects and helping the team with technical support – sharpening skills on a range of jobs.

Ollie said: “I thought the apprenticeship would be a great opportunity to learn and work with actual clients to get the best hands-on experience possible.”

Before joining the Purpose Media team, Ollie studied interactive multimedia at West Nottinghamshire College. He gained experience with website design, graphic design, animation, 3D modelling and photography.

Outside of work, Ollie puts his new-found skills into practice, exploring urban areas to capture and edit original photography.

Ollie said: “I’m looking forward to working on exciting and challenging projects with everyone here at Purpose Media and getting to know the staff who have already been extremely welcoming.”

Seb Wilson

Seb will be accompanying Ollie and the rest of the client support team. He’ll be working on a combination of client projects and ad-hoc technical support.

After studying IT at West Nottinghamshire College, Seb is looking forward to gaining more technical experience and developing his career.

Seb said: “I joined Purpose Media as I thought it would be a good opportunity to develop my skills with website production. It also gives me an exciting prospect to develop my career.

“I’m already finding it very enjoyable at Purpose Media. Everyone is easy to get along with and I feel part of an extremely friendly team. I gain more responsibility each day so I’m constantly learning new things.”

Seb balances the office work with an active lifestyle out of hours; enjoying archery, cycling and visiting the gym.

Working their way up

Our apprentice scheme regularly gives young starters a chance to build an exciting career in web design and marketing.

Of our 34 members of staff, nine have joined the team through the scheme. Several former-apprentices have become valuable authorities in their area.

Head of business development Jamie Bourn said: “Purpose Media’s apprenticeship scheme offers fantastic opportunities across the business.

“I joined as an apprentice at 16 and that gave me a really solid background of technical knowledge. Since moving into my current position, it’s helped me deliver a better service by understanding clients’ requirements from a technical perspective.

“We commit a lot of time and effort into developing our new apprentices into real assets for the team – and we’re always on the lookout for raw talent that can move up the ranks.”
