Netflix is about to boldly go where no streaming service has gone before. The company has not only inked a deal to show CBS's "Star Trek" reboot worldwide next year, it has also picked up the rights to every episode of every incarnation of the sci-fi franchise, from the original 1960s series starring William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy to "Star Trek: Enterprise," which aired from 2001-2005.

The new "Star Trek," which goes into production this fall, will premiere in January. Twenty-four hours after each episode airs, it will be available in the U.S. and Canada on CBS All Access, the network's new on-demand platform. Netflix then gets to bring it to the rest of the world, 188 countries in all.

But domestic Netflix subscribers will soon be able to beam down every season of the original "Star Trek" and its successors, "The Next Generation," "Deep Space Nine," "Voyager" and "Enterprise." All 727 episodes are expected to be available before the end of the year.

Can't wait that long? The newest film spinoff, "Star Trek: Beyond," opens Friday.
