It was a sad moment for the parents of Rosalia Lombardo, of two years when she passed away due to pneumonia attack. This took place like 100 years ago. Instead of burying her, they embalmed her and enclosed her in a glass sarcophagus and placed her at the Capuchin Catacombs in Palermo, Italy. People who would look at her and think that she was still alive because of the way she was embalmed. This look of aliveness made her earn a name of the “Sleeping Beauty.”
From the video’s explanation, we learn that her father was so sad about her daughter’s death in that he looked for professional embalmer by the name of Alfredo Salafia, so that he would embalm her. We also are briefed from the video that Rosalia was among the last dead bodies to be accepted at the Capuchin catacombs of Palermo in Sicily and was also one of the best embalmed bodies there.
All this made her body to be unique at the catacombs, but the most surprising thing that has made her body to be special to the tourists who visit the catacombs is that her eyes open and close. To believe this, just watch the clip below to see for yourself if it’s true or it is just fiction.
