This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of the Regional Administrator (ORA), Boston, MA.

DUTIES:

Working in the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of the Regional Administrator (ORA) you will serve as the Secretary to the Regional Administrator (RA) that reports directly to a Consortium Administrator (CA) in a CMS Regional Office . The incumbent participates extensively in the management of the office performing a variety of secretarial, clerical, and administrative duties, which support the work of the RA.
Specifically you will:

- Make conference arrangements for senior staff by securing space, equipment, or accommodations.

- Establish and maintain files for the office.

- Prepare travel and related documents through an automated system for senior staff.

- Prepare correspondence that requires senior staff's signature.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

ALL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.

Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

In order to qualify for the GS-8, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the grade 7 level in the Federal Government to include: establishing and maintaining filing system, managing travel for staff, and controlling or managing correspondences on behalf of an office executive.

Time in Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees applying for this position must have served at least one (1) year (52 weeks) at the GS-07 grade level.

Selective Placement Factor: Candidates must show the selective placement factor which includes being able to type at least 40 words per minute based on a five (5) minute sample with three (3) or fewer errors.
