William Shakespeare wrote how “our bodies are our gardens—our wills are our gardeners.” We feel that these featured Yoga and Pilates websites align with this philosophy for creating balanced, empowered bodies, healthy minds – a prospering garden. The list below is not in a particular order, but we believe each one offers something worthwhile and wise to the table, and are deserving of a place on this list and are all ranked highly in our eyes.

1. Ana Forrest – Ana Forrest is internationally recognized as the developer of Forrest Yoga, an intensely physical yet internally focused style of practice that helps practitioners carry the transformative experience of yoga off the mat. 2. 3. NamaStacey – Stacey Rosenberg is a joyful and playful yoga instructor who offers one-on-one sessions, public classes, immersions, and retreats in the San Francisco Bay Area. She also posts online yoga videos and detailed descriptions of asana sequences.

4. OM Schooled – OM Schooled has been in operation in the NYC area for 4 years and prior to that founder Sarah H personally worked for years as a full-time salaried yoga teacher in a NYC public/charter school and authored a book by the same name, OM Schooled, for kids yoga teachers.

5. Stephanie Culen – Stephanie Culen describes herself as a Lifestyle Alchemist for people who are ready to transform their lives. Through yoga, meditation, Reiki, and her incredibly powerful Shizzle and Shine Method, Stephanie can guide you towards seeing the magic in everyday life.

6. Seane Corn – Seane Corn is an internationally known and respected yoga instructor who is masterful in combining the physical and mystical aspects of yoga. Seane is also a passionate activist and has used her strong voice for social change to start Off the Mat and Into the World, an organization commited to bridging yoga and conscious, sustainable activism.

7. The Yoga Code – Jackie Dumaine is the developer of The Yoga Code(TM), a powerful step-by-step guide for applying the ancient wisdom of yoga to modern life. Jackie is commited to helping others realize that yoga is more than postures practiced on a mat — it is also living a meaningful life.

8. Yoga Beyond - Claudine and Honza Lafond are the founders of YogaBeyond School, a boutique yoga school with premium yoga instructors and harbor views of Sydney, Australia. Claudine and Honza have followed a playful and inspired yoga practice for years and together developed their own style of AcroYoga.

9. Yoga Girl Revolution – Katrina Love Senn is a yoga instructor, author, healer, and founder of Yoga Girl Revolution, an online resource for those of us who love yoga and love life. Yoga Girl Revolution has a number of contributers who write about everything from gong baths to nutrition for adrenal fatigue to how to find true emotional freedom.

10. Yogis Anonymous – Yogi’s Anonymous is both a walk-in and online-yoga studio, with over 1000 options to choose from in their video library! They believe that when you walk into a yoga studio, there should be a heartbeat, and a personality. Do unlimited online yoga with top instructors in your own home for only $15/month!

11. Yoga Today – This was one of the first websites to make yoga available online! The video-classes are known for being filmed in gorgeous outdoor locations, such as Jackson Hole, Wyoming and throughout the Southwest. They have three membership options (free is an option) and over 200 classes to choose from.

12. Yoga Earth – This collaborative community of health-conscious consumers and ambassadors exists in the world to share the best in nutrition, yoga, and eco-design. Their blog hosts great interviews with yoga practitioners all over the world

13. Do Yoga With Me! – David Procyshyn began posting videotapes of his own yoga classes back in 2006. Eventually other teachers joined him and together they formed Do Yoga With Me, a collection of no cost streaming yoga videos for all levels of practitioners.

14. Yoganomics - Yoganomis is a valuable news source for yoga small business owners as it covers topics such as common legal issues for studio owners and new marketing tools for yoga teachers. The sharing on the site helps independent yoga businesses follow better business practices and thrive.

15. Kathryn Budig – Kathryn Budig is a skilled writer who covers all issues related to yoga for a number of popular publications. As you read her work, it is clear that she is passionate about yoga as well as about sharing healthy and eco-friendly recipes.

16. Marianne Elliot – Marianne Elliott is a writer, yoga instructor, and human rights consultant. All of her talents come together beautifully on her website where she eloquently tells stories (some about yoga) and convinces us all that we do have a role to play in bringing about a kinder, safer world.

17. MindBodyGreen Yoga – Mind Body Green is a well-known and well-loved site that provides you with the tools to live a healthy and green life. Included in their library of posts is an impressive collection of writings about the practice of yoga and how to live a yoga lifestyle.

18. Pow How – Powhow allows you to expand your practice by taking live classes with yoga instructors from the comfort of your own home. The power of this platform is that you actually get to interact and connect with expert instructors in real-time no matter where you call home.

19. Sadie Nardini - Sadie Nardini is a fearless empowerment speaker and beloved anatomy and yoga expert. Her body of work, which promises to shift you from suffering to passion and freedom, includes the popular Total Body Transformation DVDs, the well-known Yoga Body Course, and contributions to a number of top wellness websites.

20. Tiffany Yoga – Tiffany Cruikshank is a yoga teacher and holistic health practitioner who travels the world inspiring people to live their life to the fullest. Her background in acupuncture and sports medicine is evident in her classes and workshops as she weaves anatomy lessons and yoga movement together as medicine.

21. Yoga Lunchbox – Kara-Leah Grant a yoga instructor and writer publishes the Yoga Lunchbox, New Zealand’s online yoga magazine. Besides being an excellent resource for articles about the practice of yoga on and off the mat, it also is an online community that supports its members on their yoga paths.

22. Yogi Times – Yogi Times is written for and by a community of people who are on a mission to empower others to live mindful and conscious lives. The community contributes articles that encourage personal and spiritual growth, as well as reviews of healthy, green restaraunts, hotels, spas, and yoga studios that are very useful when traveling.

23. Yoga Brains – YogaBrains was founded in 2012 by five yoga teachers and practitioners as a way of demystifying the discipline of yoga and moving the larger conversation towards providing down-to-earth solutions to personal and social issues. Topics discussed on the blog include the brain, politics, spirituality, and philosophy.

24. Yoga Healer - Cate Stillman shares practical tips for living a vibrant and an awake life on her blog, Yogahealer. Her blog posts demonstrate her knowledge of and committment to teaching others about Ayurveda.

25. Manifest Station – Jennifer Pastiloff created Manifestation Yoga which is about having breakthroughs in your life without being too serious. Her popular blog, Manifest Station, captures her love of yoga and writing, as well as her incredible sense of humor

26. Mary Catherine Starr – Mary Catherine Starr writes the lifestyle blog Starr Struck which documents her adventures as a yogi, artist, and aspiring minimalist. Her blog is beautiful to look at and informative to browse — especially her frequent Matt Matters videos that review specific yoga postures.

27. River Flow Hot Yoga - Riverflow Yoga is a welcoming community of hot yoga practitioners based out of New Jersey. Their blog answers all of your questions about hot yoga and will probably motivate you to turn up the heat on your own yoga practice.

28. E-Yoga for Beginners – Claire Austen challenged herself to practice yoga every day for one full month in early 2008 and despite it being difficult for her physically and mentally she stuck with it because it helped heal years of poor health. She continues to practice and helps introduce other beginners to yoga through her free yoga videos and pose descriptions.

29. Yogi Brown - J. Brown is a yoga instructor and writer who has published pieces in a number of respected yoga periodicals. His blog posts and essays are thoughtful and go deep into the practice and philosophy behind yoga and yoga therapy.

30. Nadine’s Yoga - Nadine Schwager is a yoga instructor in the city of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Her site, Nadine’s yoga, explains her own history of when she found yoga, why she continues to practice, and how yoga is for everyone.

31. Whole Life Yoga – Whole Life Yoga is a well-loved yoga studio in Seattle, Washington that offers a variety of classes for all levels of students, teacher training, and yoga therapy. Their website is also home to an informative and motivating blog written by Tracy Weber, a mystery author and the owner of the studio.

32. Synergy by Jasmine – Jasmine Kaloudis is a gifted and knowledgable yoga instructor who specializes in working with beginners, the inflexible, pregnant women, and couples. Her website, Synergy by Jasmine, is an excellent resource for those interested in learning more about the benefits of couple yoga therapy and how to make yoga a romantic date.

33. Ultimate Pilates Workouts – Ultimate Pilates Workouts has over 200 online Pilate instructional and workout videos that subscribers can stream from anywhere in the world. They also offer the unique “Create a Workshop” feature, which allows users to design their own Pilates class tailored to their individual needs.

34. Green Yoga Association - The Green Yoga Association is based on the idea that yoga helps connect us to the planet and that this connection deepens our practice. Their website offers ideas for how to green your yoga practice, yoga studio, and life.

35. Lime Tree Life - Maria Bardet is a self-described fitness catalyst who is originally from Russia, but now calls Sacramento, California home. Her Pilates classes combine mindful full-body sculpting with cardio intervals that get your heart-rate pumping.

36. My Yoga Online – My Yoga Online was founded in 2004 as an online studio offering yoga classes in a variety of levels and styles. New classes and articles are added daily for students of yoga who are interested in beginning their yoga journey or developing a deeper, more advanced practice.

37. Pilates Anytime – Pilates Anytime has a catalog of over 1000 videos Pilates classes perfect for beginners, advanced practitioners, and women looking for the right exercise during the prenatal and postpartum periods. Members pay a monthly fee and are able to access as many classes as they like from wherever life takes them.

38. Basi Pilates - BASI Pilates is an educational academy that creates and preserves professional standards for Pilates instructors. BASI stands for Body Arts and Science International, which is reflected in the academy’s commitment to scientific principles and the aesthetics of movement.

39. Pilates Foundation – The Pilates Foundation is a not-for-profit organization based out of the United Kingdom that establishes and maintains quality and excellence in Pilates teaching. Their informational website helps teachers find trainings and continuing education opportunities and helps people new to this type of movement understand the history and benefits of Pilates.

40. The Vertical Workshop – Shari Berkowitz operates The Vertical Workshop as a virtual Pilates studio that provides workshops, teacher training sessions, webinars, and books. By being a studio without walls, The Vertical Workshop reaches students and teachers all over the world as they practice moving upright and vertical in the name of health.

41. The Mercury Method – Lara Hudson is an accomplished dancer, choreographer, and Pilates instructor who developed a comprehensive Pilates certification training program. Lara is also the founder of The Mercury Method, a mind/body cross-training fitness center offering yoga, pilates, and barre classes that focus on the anatomy and the biomechanics of the body.

42. Winsor Pilates – Mari Winsor is a fitness expert who played a key role in bringing the once obscure PIlates workouts to the masses. Mari continues to spread the word about PIlates through her exercise videos, books, and app, while also providing some of Hollywood’s biggest stars with personalized Pilates training.

43. Rodney Yee – Rodney Yee is a renowned yoga instructor who leads public classes, retreats, and teacher trainings, as well as writes books and creates DVDs for the home yoga practitioner. His gifts as a yoga instructor include “his communication skills, his sequencing finesse, and his ability to break down postures into their essential elements.”

44. One With Life – Stephanie Spence has been practicing yoga for 30 years and her depth of experience is evident in the blog posts she writes for One With Life. In addition to sharing her thoughts and advice for specific poses, Stephanie also includes musings about her personal life and yogini travels.

45. Alive in the Fire - Rachel Stroud, the author of Alive in the Fire blog, is a self-described yogini warrior, poet, and artist. Her intention for her writing is to inspire positivity and bring joy to other yoga practitioners, including those just starting out on their yoga journey.

46. Yoga Vela  – Yoga Vela is a yoga studio in Driftwood, Texas that began years ago when five women would get together to push back the dining room chairs and tables to practice what they called Kitchen Yoga. Over time their yoga gathering grew into a studio that offers a variety of yoga classes and workshops.

47. Curvy Yoga – The Curvy Yoga manifesto is a strong declaration for self-love and body positivity through yoga. We recommend reading it and making it so — and then going on your own yoga adventure.
