The year of 2016 and every year prior has provided us with amazing games. This has us excited for what is to come in the next couple of years, particularly, those exclusive to PlayStation 4. With that said, let's take a look at 30 exclusive upcoming titles that should capture your attention. Let's begin.

Gravity Rush 2



Release Date: January 20, 2017

This game picks up where the last game left off. The characters from Gravity Rush will return and new characters will be added. Kat, along with her friends, continue to search for clues regarding her past. There are two new gravity styles to master in Gravity Rush 2. Lunar, which is lighter; and Jupiter, which of course, is heavier.

Horizon Zero Dawn

Release Date: February 28, 2017

Horizon Zero Dawn is an action-packed RPG developed by Guerilla Games. In a post-apocalyptic world, humans struggle to survive as they defend against machines that are taking over the ruins of the lush planet. We’re looking forward to seeing what this new Role Playing Game for PlayStation for has in store for us.

Persona 5

Release Date: April 4, 2017

The latest addition to the Persona, which is a spinoff of the Megami Tensei franchise, family will be set in Tokyo. More powers will be released for students at Shujin High School as they join the "Phantom Thieves of Hearts" as vigilantes. We’ve been waiting for this game since 2013, and developers believe, after many delays, the game is ready for release. It has reached…perfection.

Nex Machina

Release Date: 2017

The fear of people everywhere has now been brought to life. People are incapable of tearing themselves away from their devices. The force is so strong that the machines have taken over. They are controlling humans as they now have minds of their own and have surpassed humans in their intelligence. It is up to you to defend yourself against these robots who wish to destroy the human race. This arcade game is fit for the next generation, and is full of original ideas.

MLB the Show 17

Release Date: March 28, 2017

Major League Baseball fans are more than ready for the next game in the series. The 2017 game features four different editions for all fans at varying prices and different exclusives. The game will feature classic stars and new ones as well. Retro Mode will take players back and adds a certain novelty to the game.

The Last of Us Part II

Release Date: TBA

Fans are dying for Part II on one of the greatest games of the decade. I won’t go into details as to avoid spoilers, but there are very high hopes for this game. Ellie will star in this installment, but will not be the only character to return. There’s no denying that this could be the most anticipated game of the year. Now, if only we had a release date!

God of War

Release Date: TBA

God of War has released seven games thus far, but this installment will be incredibly different from the others. To start with, it will be the first God of War game for PlayStation 4. The biggest difference here is probably the fighting style. Instead of the skull-bashing, brutish combat, we are left with a more skillful approach. A lot has changed since the last game, but we still see Kratos and his son, although in a whole new light.

Spider-Man

This guy has been around since 1962, and we’re still reading comics, and playing video games starring one of our favorite classic heroes. There’s not much known about the newest Spider-Man game for PS4. In fact, the name is still in progress. But we do know that the game does bring everything we love about the franchise to our PS4s. Acrobatics, exciting cut scenes, amazing storyline, and original fighting techniques. He also will sport an exclusive new suit. We’re excited to hear Insomniac release more info for this!

Death Stranding

Release Date: TBA

Everyone is talking about Death Stranding. Come on, we love Norman Reedus…we love Kojima Productions…we love open world action games. What could go wrong? Not much has been said about this game, except that it looks amazing. It is full of an emotional story and the mystery that surrounds it draws us in even more than if we had more info regarding it.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Release Date: 2017

We thought that the story was over for Drake, and it may be true. But that doesn’t mean it’s over for everyone in the Uncharted world. Naughty Dog now has us restless while waiting for the next Uncharted game. A new, cool and skilled woman, Nadine, joins Chloe in this installment. It will be fun to see how others perceive the world in this game, and Chloe is anxious to show us.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Release Date: 2017

Cloud Strife is back and he looks amazing! To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of arguably the best Final Fantasy game of the franchise, Square Enix is remaking Final Fantasy VII. Releasing this game is risky. Fans of the series will have very high expectations and will assume it can never measure up to the original. So, I guess only time will tell.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

Release Date: 2017

Crash Bandicoot, a PlayStation classic, returns for another series. This game will bring back everything we love about Crash as he jumps, wumps, and runs through challenges across the land. Replay the Crash trilogy: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped, completely remastered and looking more beautiful than ever.

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom

The world of Ni No Kuni II will take you to a land much like those in a Hayao Miyazaki movie. The first game in 2010 was quite a hit, so you can understand why so many are anxiously awaiting a release date for the sequel. For RPG fans, Ni No Kuni is a must. For those who haven’t played the first one, well there’s still time to run through it before the sequel’s release.

Ace Combat 7

Ace Combat is a hit series that has been around since 1992. No need to feel old. Pilot games have always been popular, and Ace Combat is one of the best. So it’s no surprise that Ace Combat 7 is highly anticipated. There will be extreme dog-fighting, amazing storyline, a VR experience, and awesome graphics.

Everything

Release Date: TBA

Everything is just that…everything. It takes you through different perspectives of “everything” in the universe, whether it’s a bird, horse, star, or even a paper clip. Nearly everything you see is a playable character. This idea is 100% original and we can hardly wait to everything you can be and what you can do which each character.

Nioh

Release Date: February 7, 2017

In Nioh, you are a skilled samurai in a war ridden Japan, now filled with demons and ill-willed rival samurai. The battles will take timing, skill, and strategy. This game seems different than what we are used to and offers an original approach to old-world Japan RPGs. To get a feel for the style of the game, keep in mind that Nioh is developed by the same people that created the Ninja Gaiden as well as the Dead and Alive series’.

Yakuza 0

Release Date: January 24, 2017

It’s 1988 and you’re on the glam-filled streets of Tokyo. Unlike other follow-ups, this game takes place before the others in the series, which means, it’s a great place for people new to Yakuza to start. Play as Kazuma Kiryu as you beat up thugs or Goro Majima as you control a popular club. If you need a break from fighting, discos and arcades are ever present in the ‘80s.

Days Gone

A survival game, full of emotion, Days Gone is said to be a deeper game with much to teach us. This game is made to feel real, and relatable. The details are impeccable and the eye-adaption technology brings personal connections to the game. Beyond that, there are hundreds of choices to make, allowing personalization and various paths. You can even build your own class with weapons and skills.

Detroit: Become Human

In this game, obviously set in Detroit, you control various androids, which are very much like humans. What makes this game so different is that, if you make the wrong choices, or right ones, characters that you once controlled can die. But instead on reviving at your last checkpoint, the game goes on despite their absence.  This is exciting and keeps you on the edge of your seat as you pay attention to the details that can prevent a tragic loss.

Gran Turismo Sport

Release Date: 2017

Gran Turismo strikes again! Since 1997, the series has brought us amazing racing games that we never stop playing. The newest addition should be no exception. It is even said to be as good as the original! It is packed full of real cars, original cars, enthralling tracks, realistic graphics, and new features too. One really exciting addition is the ability to obtain an official FIA Gran Turismo Digital License with an in-game value equal to that of a real motorsport license. Cool beans!

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age

Somehow, Square Enix manages to bring us two Final Fantasy remakes in the same year. More than ten years later, this installment is remastered with added beauty and a new soundtrack. It also updated the battle system, leveling, and multiple new modes. For fans of the first game, this is a must-buy, and for gamers who haven’t played the original, well, now is your chance to get one for your PS4.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue

Release Date: January 24, 2017

Ahhhh…yes…here we are with another beloved Kingdom Hearts game. The series brings the 2012 game to 2017 with faster battles and better exploration.  There is also an added movie about the Foretellers and a new playable episode called a Fragmentary Passage where you play as Aqua.

Wild

Release Date: TBA

Wild is an adventure survival game where you use instincts and intuition to make it through a world full of hostile creatures and climates. Learn to control animals and explore friends’ territories as you help them survive as well. Is this small green sprout a remedy or poison? Is this large tree woman hostile, or a new guardian?

Rime

Release Date: TBA

Rime is a brand-new heartwarming story of a young boy who must escape an ominous island as well as an ill-fated curse. Make your way through puzzles and challenges as you explore this open world. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about this game yet, but so far, it looks rather promising.

Dreams

Release Date: TBA

From the creators of Little Big Planet, comes Dreams. This new game from Media Molecule is rather mysterious. Another interactive creativity game allows you to build dreams and explore those of others. The sandbox genre gives you the power to create characters, maps, items, and more. To create your dream world right at home on your PlayStation 4.

Dragon Quest Heroes 2

Release Date: April 25, 2017

In 2017, the US is met with another Dragon Quest game for PlayStation 4. The hack-and-slash RPG that is full of kingdoms, heroes, fantasies, enchantments, and prophecies. Anyone who liked the original will surely love the sequel. Japan has already sold more than half a million copies.

Digimon World: Next Order

Release Date: January 31, 2017

Di-gi-mon…digital monsters…oh yeah! Here we go with another Digimon game from Bandai Namco. You travel the Digimon world as you simultaneously control two Digimon and battle it out with strategic commands to your companions. The game has already received great reviews from critics and is said to be a great, original Digimon adventure.

NieR: Automata

Release Date: March 7, 2017

The futuristic game of aliens takes us to a world far away. Unknown life forces have exiled humans to the moon and it’s up to you to reclaim it. The game looks beautiful at 60fps and the story is one that you’ll want to play through.

WipEout Omega Collection

Release Date: 2017

Since a WipEout game has made an appearance on every PlayStation console, it hardly had a choice but to make it to PS4. This set remasters WipEout HD, Fury, and 2048. There are nine modes, twenty-six tracks, and forty-six models to choose from.

Danganronpa 1.2 Reload

Release Date: March 14, 2017

Looks like Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair have been merged together for this new PS4 exclusive. It is a higher quality duplicate of the originals, except it features two new modes, allowing you to build relationships with other characters.
