Late last year, we reported on an upcoming PS4 game Kingdom Come: Deliverance. What surprised us about this game is the premise. The game’s developer, Warhorse Studios, pitches the game as an RPG that’s not your typical RPG. What this means is that the magic and mythical creatures you’ve grown accustomed to seeing in the standard RPG is absent from this ambitious adventure.

At the time, Warhorse was seeking a publisher for the game. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to secure one. Warhorse recently launched the Kickstarter campaign for Kingdom Come: Deliverance so that they can still deliver their vision of an RPG to you. Warhorse has set the goal at  £300,000 (about $500,000).

The beginning of the Kickstarter campaign also marks the start of what we hope will be a stream of regular updates on the game. Deliverance’s 30-hour long story will be told in Act I of the game. Warhorse Studios plans to expand the game’s story in Act’s II and III, bringing the total playtime to over 70 hours . Warhorse Studios notes that the game can be tackled the way you desire. As a Hero or Villain, Deliverance grants you the freedom to choose how to embark on quests in multiple ways.

The latest trailer for the game shows off some of the game’s expansive world, large-scaled battles, and crafting system. Warhorse says that instead of bringing up a menu during crafting, you’ll have to do it all yourself. This means you can’t stand idly by as your new sword or armor is made, but instead a mini-game will be initiated for you to take part in the process.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance will be available as a PSN title later this year. Pledging $40 or more grants you access to the PC alpha version of the game. A beta of the game will be available as an Early Access title on PC later this year. The beta could possible come to PSN but that’s up in the air right now.
