Winners have been named in the 2014 SPIE Startup Challenge after a live competition during SPIE Photonics West in San Francisco earlier this month. Top prize went to Robert McLaughlin of the University of Western Australia, with Nicholas Durr of Massachusetts Institute of Technology taking second, and Amos Danielli of MagBiosense taking third.
