If you were guessing I went AWOL, that’s probably fairly accurate. My last newsletter was a few weeks before Christmas. With not having family left and living in a transient state like Florida where friends come and go (most are “go” right now, with WWE), it’s really nice to have something to open on the holidays.

The story below as to why I half disappeared is real April, not April Hunter the entertainer. So, be warned. No boobs ahead.
“We all need three hobbies in life: One to make you money, one to keep you in shape, and one to keep you creative.”
Simply put, I got overwhelmed and had a half breakdown, Here is what happened in a not-so-short story: Bought a fixer-upper house last summer. Contractor ripped me off for quite a bit. Had to spend what was left of the budget to have his work redone by another contractor. Moved in – found out I had/have a psycho, stalking neighbor. He flipped out when I put a shed between our properties. “It’s blocking my view into her yard,” is what he told the deputy. This person made sure everyone in my neighborhood had seen my boobs before meeting me. He spent his time sending complaints to the HOA, city and county… and there were constant “surprise” inspections. If anything was off, I paid more to have it fixed. I forked out $500 to have the shed moved 5 inches. It was supposed to be 7.5 feet from the property line and despite there being a 6 foot fence between us; I still had to move it. He broke into the yard, poisoned my chickens (2 died from sudden kidney failure and Daphne died right after Christmas from cancer) and he’s tried to have the rest of my pets taken away from me on constant complaints of them being a “nuisance”. My pets are a lot of things; needy, demanding and constantly begging for treats. But noisy, unclean or a “nuisance” they are NOT. I filed a restraining order in court and was awarded a two year order of protection. He had been pushing the HOA to come after us as well, and they had. On everything. The fence, the shed, the coop, the pets, the mailbox. He told them that I was a ‘thief, grifter, pornographer, and people like this are going to bring pawn shops into the neighborhood.’
Despite knowing I had a protection order against him, the HOA allowed his continued complaints past the date of filing and continued their letters, which eventually led to them serving me with papers to get rid of my birds. All of my pets are registered as ESA animals. Bipolar Disorder became part of Americans with Disabilities Act in 2008, and I let them know this and provided them with medical records and a note from my psychologist, but they continued. HUD went after them for breaking FHA law and discrimination, in mediation, we won. We had to gather paperwork, have endless calls to legal workers and caseworkers, get signed letters from all our neighbors stating the pets weren’t a problem and more medical notes. This all happened right after Thanksgiving through New Years, so I lost the time of the year when my sales are the best. I had a paid for a booth to sell my soy candles and didn’t have much to sell due to not having time to make them. The entire season was a wash for me.
As if hating the house you spent lots of heart and money on to renovate wasn’t enough of an issue, the stress has taken a huge toll. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease this year (another one, yet!), Lupus. It flares us with stress, certain foods, randomly… and your body attacks your healthy organs. About 20% of those with it die, so I’m trying to avoid THAT. But it causes severe pain and exhaustion. Like… knock you on your ass stuff. I don’t think I realized how long I’d had it because it was disguised as wrestling injuries. The energy I have in a day varies. With the stuff that’s been going on… it just hasn’t been there. There was also continuing proof Crazy Neighbor broke the restraining order with cyber stalking, so I had to deal with that paper work and the states attorney as well. All of this a large part of why I haven’t done much online, or had the energy to deal with much. Him using everything I say publicly against me; blogs, photos, posts. On the plus, this bored, mean gem of a person is moving. He put the house up for sale. Thank God.
Now, we can finally breathe, right? No.
As an attempt to do something fun and forget about everything going on, my boyfriend and I started ice skating classes again. It WAS fun. Until he slammed his head so hard on ice at the rink practicing hockey stops, it caused a brain bleed. He now has a cyst with fluid, post concussion syndrome and frontal lobe blood clot. Plus a referral to the neurosurgeon, STAT. Our healthcare system is FUCKED. The wait times for a specialist are ridiculous. The screw-ups are epic. The paperwork to fill out is exhausting. And the cost, even with really good insurance… forget about it. He can’t drive or work, and he’s very temperamental. To put it bluntly, it’s an extremely difficult living situation, and I feel guilty saying that, as I’m trying my best to take care of him and the household. But we are hanging by a thread – after buying this house. Additionally, his teenaged niece came to live with us. She is a sweet girl, but when there’s an argument, I often feel ganged up upon or unwelcome in my own home. Neither of them knows what it’s like to live with someone Bipolar and the stabilizing meds only do so much when there’s excessive stress. I feel quite alone most of the time, lately. All of this uncertainly and instability is not good. I upped the dosage of my medications around Christmas and it’s helping, but it’s hard to live around volatile triggers and manage to walk away, not fight back, breathe deeply, remember “Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?” when the other person isn’t following those rules and you’ve just had your head torn off over something as menial as folding the laundry. Under normal circumstances, he is a kind, sweet, good person who treats me very well, so this is mutherfucking challenging.
I also had to take on all the bills because his disability hasn’t come through. That paperwork and endless phone calls and faxing is a whole ‘nother headache. I’d cut back on work to go to school full time and after house renovations, just don’t have it.

So… things can only go up, right? Silver linings?
One thing that’s going well: Full Sail University. Some of you know that pro wrestling was never my dream – I just fell into it because of my look and a well-timed Playboy layout. I’ve been writing since I could hold a pencil. When I spent so much time with my Gram and Mom when they were dying in 2012, I found that my grandmother had kept all my letters, cards, drawings and report cards. As in, ALL of them. It was interesting to see who I was before I started chasing a paycheck. Have you ever done this? Gone back to who you were as a kid? What you loved to do for fun? I highly recommend it. Do what you loved to do as a kid for fun again. It’s fantastic.
As it were, I’d wanted to be a writer – and I already knew this. I write nonstop, have a blog, do articles and reviews on the side…that is what’s always been my dream. But no one has ever said, “I want to be rich and famous, so I’ll be a writer when I grown.” Putting food on the table has always been a higher concern. But I took a deep breath (another one) and said ‘fuck it… now or never.’
I enrolled last autumn. It’s funny how well you do when you know you’re going to be in fucking debt for the rest of your life later. I’m a debt-motivated A student. Until I get to math… then all bets are off. I’m there for my 4-year degree in 2 years for Creative Writing for Entertainment (TV, Film, Games). Full Sail is an accelerated school with a high dropout rate. It’s HARD and time consuming. I’m in it to win it. I had to pull out in January to take care of things around home , but started back in Feb. Love it. Going back to school as an adult while balancing work and home is a major commitment and I have a new respect for those who do.
However, this is why my time and energy has been so limited. I feel like I’m “losing myself” in a way. I’ve cut back on candle making, slowed down on the gym, opting for long cardio walks with hand weights instead, and I’ve switched to a day schedule. Screw what people tell you – working days sucks. It’s FAR more productive working nights because there aren’t endless interruptions. No calls, no one at your door, no errands to run. I can get done in 3-6 hours at night what it takes me 2-3 days to now accomplish.

In the meantime, if you’re still reading this novel of a newsletter, I am impressed. I just think you deserve a real explanation of what’s been going on. I need help and I don’t have it, mostly with things regarding keeping up online. A few people have stepped up and offered to do some photo and video editing for me, which I’m grateful. Anything that saves time is amazing. Doing my best to get back on top of everything and I appreciate your patience and boots in my ass when I am not getting right back to you. I need it!
