Outstanding Country property near the Village of Villanueva de la Concepcion in a little hamlet La Highera, 30 min from the historical village of Antequera and 60 min to Malaga beaches and airport. The villa was built in 2007 to a very high standart with all the modern comforts expected of a home today. However, it has the styling and much of the character expected of a traditional Andalucian Country Villa. The rural location is special – an unspoilt hidden agriculture corner of Andalusian countryside with no other houses to disturb your privacy – no neighbours to overlook you or to spoil the amazing views but so central within the Malaga province and within easy reach of Antequera.

Traditional Andalucian styling to include reclaimed roof tiles, arches, porches, covered terraces, pergolas, water fountain, terracotta floor tiling, solid wood doors, wrought iron handles etc. The property is set over three floors and laid out to take advantage of the views and the solid rock the property is built into. This layout means that everyone has their own privacy (guests away from hosts) and each enjoys fabulous views and their own outside space. Each of the bedrooms is a ‘suite’ with bedroom, fitted wardrobes and dressing area, en-suite bathroom and own terrace. The master bedroom even has a wonderful roof terrace with Jacuzzi and home office off the roof terrace. The entrance is in typical Cortijo styling with a porch and impressive arched solid wood front door.

A beautiful 12M x 4M swimming pool that is heated by solar and a heat pump, surrounded by a very spacious pool terrace with pergola for permanent shade. The views are panoramic and uninterrupted plus flower beds add colour all year round. A pool house with shower room and w.c plus store room adds to the comfort. Set high above a river that flows in winter and whilst relaxing around the pool, your eye is naturally drawn down the valley.

Set in 26.000M2 (6 acres) of outstandingly beautiful natural countryside. Most left to nature as it travels down to the river below but some is planted with approximately 150 olives which the owner has collected and pressed each year, there are other fruit trees. Nearer to the house there are stunning formal gardens, kitchen garden and of course the swimming pool terrace.

The outstanding practical features of the property are: Exceptionally good quality ground works/foundations, three phase electricity, under floor heating (oil fired), mains water plus well water (ideal for filling the swimming pool), grey water (ideal for watering the garden) plus a water deposit. Double glazing throughout (powder coated in dark green) to include picture windows and many patio doors. Air-conditioning and ceiling fans. Solar panels which enhance the heating system on the colder days and the hot water. In the summer the panels supply all the hot water and heat up the swimming pool (8 large panels). Contemporary quality kitchen with a Rangemaster Falcon oven and Samsung American style double fridge/freezer. Plus a separate utility room. Good internet supply with speed enough for streaming television. The internet supplier can connect a telephone if desired. Concrete and hard surface entrance driveway all the way to the property from the hamlet of La Higuera. No need for a 4 × 4 vehicle.

Layout:

Upper entrance level

The property is entered through the impressive automatic gates and then through the Andalucian double doors into the property. A square entrance hall greets you with and accesses the living/dining room, kitchen and utility room, cloakroom/shower room and the hallway that leads to further accommodation/levels. Off the spacious living/dining room and kitchen, the covered alfresco lounging and dining areas can be reached as can the swimming pool.

Middle level

A few steps down from the light filled hallway with picture windows that take in the courtyard is the middle level of the property that accommodates the master bedroom suite. The suite enjoys its own bedroom, dressing area, large en-suite and very spacious roof terrace with jacuzzi and amazing views. Off the master bedroom suite roof terrace is the home office.

Lower ground level

This lower garden level is where the two guest bedroom suites are located. Each has its own bedroom with dressing area, en-suite shower room and patio doors out onto a terrace that leads onto the palm and yukka garden. These bedrooms can be reached externally by steps down from the entrance driveway and car parking area. On the other side is the storage room and machinery room for hot water tanks and cold water tanks.

Location

The property will appeal to those who are seeking a luxurious home in a beautiful rural country setting that is peaceful and private. Those who appreciate that to own a piece of prime Andalucian countryside without neighbours will have to get in a car to reach it and they won’t have a parade of shops with bars and restaurants within walking distance.

On saying this, whilst isolation may immediately come to mind, this is not the case, you just need to be prepared to get in a car (drive yourself or get a taxi).
