A legal wrangling on the south Spanish hotel, El Algarrobico in Carboneras Almeria seems not to have an end.
The 21-storey hotel, located right by the beach in the famous nature reserve of Cabo de Gata, Costa del Sol, was reported that it was built in the middle of a nature reserve and not to their building permits in order, property Marbella.
Hotel building was almost complete when it was stopped in 2006. Since then, the big building stood deserted, while the Court to consider their legality or lack thereof.
The developer and the municipality of Carboneras argue that the property is legally built and has all the permits in order, while environmental groups and the Andalusian government says the exact opposite, and points out that the hotel is near the beach and is built in a nature reserve.
Last week came the announcement from the Andalusian Supreme Court ruled that the construction is legal because it is built on land that had been zoned for residential purposes.
But that decision is the Andalusian government and environmental organizations very angry and Andalusian government leaders, Susana Díaz, will appeal the Andalucia Supreme Court decision, and the same thing is going to Greenpeace and local environmental groups do who are appalled by the Andalucia Supreme Court decision.
As usual in Spain it is certainly a lot of bribes and corruption behind the decision to approve the project.
