Horamavu is located in north east Bengaluru. The area is a rapidly growing suburb and is one of the most sought after residential localities in the city. The ward which is spread across 14 sqkm in the KR Puram assembly constituency is the most populated ward in the city, according to the 2011 census.
Accessibility
Horamavu is located in close proximity to KR Puram, HRBR Layout and Banaswadi. The famous sub localities of the micro market include, Horamavu Agara, Balaji Layout, Ashirvad Colony, Horamavu Banswadi and Kallumantapa. NH 7 (Outer Ring Road) passes through the locality giving it good connectivity. There are a number of roads which ensure that the locality has decent intra connectivity. KR Puram railway station, a junction on the Bangalore-Chennai main line, is the nearest railway station. Channasandra railway station is also quite close to this area. Baiyappanahalli metro station is the nearest metro station which is located 5.4 km away from here. The HAL airport is just 10 km away from the locality.

The locality has a good number of educational institutions. Some of tge famous schools located here include, Deva Matha Central School, New Millennium School, St. Vincent Pallotti High School and Navjyothi Public School. The area has colleges like the Lourdes College of Education, Christian College of Nursing and TES College.

There are some decent hotels located around the locality. The locality has a number of restaurants like My Little China, Shanghai Kitchen, Akshaya Bar & Restaurant and U.S Pizza where a variety of cuisines are served. Bars and pubs are located around the region as well.

The area has a number of options for shopping like super markets, shopping complexes, retail outlets and general stores. Standalone retail outlets of both national and international brands like Lifestyle, LensPick, Sangeetha and supermarkets like Magick Cart Supermarket, Shoba’s Super Market and Home Buzz are present here.

The area has multi specialty, super specialty and general hospitals like Zilme Hospitals, NMPC Hospital, and Dr. Sailajas Super Specialty Eye Hospital. The region has a number of clinics and pharmacies.

Sri Sundara Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Vinayaka Temple, OM Shakthi Temple, Shiva Temple, Church Of Hope and Masjid-e-Zaffar are some of the places of worship located in and around the locality.
Real estate
The micro market has become an ideal destination for residential properties due to its proximity to the IT hubs like ITPL, Whitefield and Nagavara. Many city-based developers have their projects in the locality. The infrastructural developments and proximity to the IT parks are the factors that are driving the realty market here. There are some civic issues like traffic congestion during peak hours and shortage of drinking water due to poor ground water level. A 20-MLD capacity STP has been proposed at Horamavu Agara and this is expected to resolve a few civic issues. Availability of land, good connectivity and the affordable prices are expected to drive the realty market in the upcoming years
