When you speak of promotional products, most people think of branding needs for businesses, schools, corporate giveaways, awareness events, awards and recognition, and other events of the sort. But how many of you think of birthdays, weddings, showers, Bar-Mitzvahs, family reunions, concerts, or block parties? Promotional products are not just used for businesses. They are also novelty items that can be given out at any event.

Motivators has a whole section on our site dedicated to such events. All you need to do is take a look at our site, and you are bound to find something unique for your special event. And don’t be deterred by the higher minimums on our site. If you see something you like and want to order a smaller quantity, just give us a call and we can check to see if we can do a lesser quantity for your special day!

Here are some examples of your not-so-everyday uses of promotional items done by some of our very own Motivators members.

Birthday Celebrations: Not only are promotional (a.k.a. novelty) items great giveaways for the guests of birthday celebrations, but they are also a terrific way to surprise the birthday boy / girl! These custom imprinted t-shirts were used by our very own Jamie Zeitchek (in the accounting department) and Tim Ciarniell (in the prep department) for their father’s 60th birthday. This is a perfect example of how promotional t-shirts can be used for any event or celebration. It is something they can wear at the party and for many, many years to come to remind them of their fun-filled day.

Weddings: One of my favorite parts of going to a wedding are the cool little favors that are given away. It is such a great time to get creative! Nicole Green (in the order entry department) and her hubby Joey gave away this cute and classy can holder to their guests to remind them of their special day every time they used it. My absolutely favorite part of this favor is the tagline – “to HAVE and to HOLD and to keep your beer COLD.” They definitely get two thumbs up from me for this exceptional idea. Some other fun wedding favor ideas are tambourines, mint tins, picture frames, and candles; though if you want to get creative there are limitless possibilities to choose from!

Family Reunions: Every so often families need to get together and have a reunion to catch up with each other’s lives. The larger the families get the more difficult this can be sometimes. Many people do a one-day or night event so everyone can be available. Some lucky ones, however, have the opportunity to do a family reunion trip. Ali Strauss, the sales manager of our Miami Beach office, used the double wall tumbler two years ago at her family reunion cruise.

Every three years they all go on cruise, which is a great way for them to have a family reunion and have a nice vacation at the same time. I bet she can’t wait for their cruise coming up next year! Being the creative planner she is, I am 100% sure she is already searching for new ideas for the upcoming reunion. Some other fun ideas for such a giveaway are sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses, visors, and caps all with a custom imprint.

Baby / Bridal Showers: One of the reasons I love working at Motivators is because of my fabulous co-workers. Not only do I enjoy spending time with them at work, but also outside of work. Last year when our top sales rep, Olha Korolenko, was getting ready to have her second child, our wonderful sales manager, Laurie O’Shea, decided to have a surprise Motivators baby shower for her at her house. The day was filled out lots of fun, laughter, delicious food and favors!

Since the shower was in her backyard, the promotional sunglasses came in very handy. And the popcorn with the tagline “Olha – ready to pop” was definitely a crowd-pleaser. Great job party-planning, Laurie! Some other fun shower ideas are tote bags, umbrellas, aprons, and cookies, just to name a few.

Bar-Mitzvah / Bat-Mitzvah:

Jill Wisner, our promotional products queen, had her son’s Bar-Mitzvah a while ago, but her swag left a great impression on all of her guests. Of course, with her son being a huge baseball fan, the theme of the event was the METS. Every detail at the party (from the place card holders to the coasters at the bar) had the baseball theme. All I can say is that this party was a Grand Slam!

A lot of Bar/Bat-Mitzvahs tend to run on themes such as sports, movies, animated characters, etc. With so many different themes to choose from, the promotional gifts that can be used are endless. Just take a look at Bar-Mitzvah Event Ideas on our site and you will see what I am talking about!
