In the main window of the program you will find a vertical sidebar on the left side.
This sidebar consists includes four main sections Burn, Create + Burn, Design + Print and Miscellaneous. The burn section includes tools that are useful for creating new disc, modify disc or backup files. Burn files and folders
With the help of Ashampoo Burning Studio 16 you can burn your data to a blank disc. This is easily done by selecting the files and folders you want to burn, then select a disc recorder and adjust the burning settings then start burn
Disc Spanning is the same but it allows you to backup huge amounts of data across multiple discs with ease. The program will determine the number of required discs for you and burn them sequentially. The program will automatically prompt you to insert the next disc once a disc is finished.
Autostart feature enables you to create you disc with either interactive menu that will start automatically once the disc is inserted or just simple autoplay without menu

First, select files and folders to backup. To select a file/folder, click the checkbox in front of it. Select a folder in the tree view, to select all subfolders and folders. Then edit the exclusion rules which allow you to prevent files of specific file types from being backed up
Next select your backup settings including choose of location (You can either backup your files to disc or to hard disk, flash drive or another external device), Adding a password (to protect your backup), compress it to save space and If required, split up your backup into several smaller files of equal size.
If you need to restore your files; First, select a backup to restore. If the desired backup is not listed use "Select backup file from a custom location..." and select it manually. Then, select the files to restore using the tree view to select entire folder or the center pane to select individual files. Finally adjust the restore settings which simply include the location to restore your files to and how the program will handle existing files that match files to be restored by clicking "Change..." to adjust the overwrite options
Also the program helps you to backup any external devices connected to the computer as hard disc, USB Flash..etc You can create a new backup or update an existing one through simple steps. The program will scan your system for suitable data sources and will display them in the left tree view. Then you can select a device or subfolder to backup there. Then, select the file types you wish to backup.

Ashampoo burning studio 16 allows you to create audio CD, create MP3 or WMA Disc, copy music files to disc or rip Audio CD.
Create Audio CD:
First add audio files using the plus button then move songs up or down in the playlist using the arrow up/down buttons and delete files using use the trash can button. The two intertwined arrows randomly rearrange your songs. The play button helps to preview your songs before burning.
You can adjust the Equalizer Settings using the button with the three sliders then select an effect from the "Equalizer" dropdown menu. Use the bottom player to preview your changes
You can adjust the volume levels using the “Normalisation button” or your songs and also modify the pauses between songs using “Pause” button.
