UFC officials have announced that former UFC lightweight champion Ben Henderson will take on rising contender Rustam Khabilov at the UFC Fight Night 42 event. The event will take place on June 7 Albuquerque, New Mexico, at Tingley Arena.

Henderson (20-3) is coming off a close split decision win over Josh Thomson at the UFC on FOX 10 event. It was Henderson's first fight since losing his UFC lightweight title to Anthony Pettis at UFC 164.
Khabilov (17-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Jorge Masvidal in his last outing at the UFC Fight for the Troops 3 event. It was his third win inside the UFC promotion, and his sixth consecutive win since suffering the lone defeat of his career in 2011.
