Catholic Relief Services (CRS) makes its purpose clear on its official website, “We are the official overseas relief and development agency of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops and a member of Caritas International and the National Catholic Development Conference.” CRS is the largest Catholic overseas charity in the world with an income of $822 million in 2011-2012, and is active in 91 countries worldwide, including Madagascar since 1962.
